do you have any idea of how big Cars 2 will be,,

which one is expected to gross more: KFP 2, Cars 2, or will Rio remain as the highest grossing cgi film of the year??

I think that Cars 2 will do better than KFP2 and Rio but not by that much, they wont gross much more than 30m. That's like the magic numbers for most CGI films here (TS3 was just.... a monster).

Mau so what is expected of the legs for KFP2 there? I am guessing Rio would end very close to $27m mark there...which would be amazing. How about X-Men: First Class opening and legs?

Pirates got raped by KFP/Cars/TF3.

It could have easily grossed over $30m. but those three killed it.

And unless Potter really increases from its average (24-26m) Transformers has this year locked.

EDIT:Potter broke the OD record with 6.4m (Nearly 75% of HP7-1 OW), a monster, now let's see if this breaks TS3's record

Potter took MExican box office upside down, broke OD and OW record, and it will easily overteak TF3 for #1 of the year.

And the race for #1 GCI movie of the year is close, KP2 will finish around 26, Cars around 28, and Rio ended up at 27.

Great opening for HP as expected. Good race among the animation entries, but those have been quite strong in Mexco ;)

Dollar was much more stronger last year.

(US $1 = 11.7222 Mexican Peso) when Potter opened.

(US $1 = 12.5471 Mexican Peso) when TS3 opened.

It does make quite the difference.

Impressive Rio actually beat Cars and KFP... who could have thought that?.

Potter becomes the highest Potter film on its second wknd and after a record breaking OW, it seems like it'll sit right behind avatar as the third highest grossing film of all times.
