$750 million is a lock overseas. Worldwide, we'll see at least $985 million.
So, yeah, $1 billion is most likely happening now. Holy fucking shit.

$30.2m / $520.3m
The gap gets bigger and bigger. If Pirates 4 does the same as DH1 from here on out, it would finish with about $820m. But it's grossing more every week, extending its lead.

Continues to amaze. This will cruise past $800 m. Too bad it didn't do that well in the US. Would be cool to see it outperforming DMC WW.
P.S. BTW, since when BOM's all-time chart is restricted to 100 titles? WTF?

Even if it drops 50% weekly over the next month, it's going to hit $750 million Overseas... $800 million Overseas is becoming a real possibility here.

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean 4 (INTL) $696m & counting...
Box Office Shocker: 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' Is Disney's Top Film of All Time Overseas The Johnny Depp tentpole has earned $695.9 million offshore and $907.4 million worldwide. Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides has become the studio's biggest release of all time at the international box office, grossing $695.9 million overseas. Pirates of the Caribbean:...It's also the fourth biggest earner of all time at the foreign box office, bested only by Avatar ($2 billion), Titanic ($1.2 billion) and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King ($742.1 million), which it's on track to surpass. Just as impressive, On Stranger Tides has now jumped the $900 million mark globally, with a cume of $907.4 million through Tuesday, easily making it the top film of 2011, at least so far. On Stranger Tides has played far better overseas, where 3D is booming in markets including Russia, China and Brazil. The movie's domestic gross is $211.5 million. There's growing consensus that On Stranger Tides will hit $1 billion in global grosses, a rare feat that only a handful of films have achieved. In terms of the Pirates franchise, only Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest crossed $1 billion in global grosses, cuming $1.1 billion. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/b ... 00px%20(19)%20(1)&utm_content=

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean 4 (INTL) $696m & counting...
Is it surprising or what that it is Pirates who is the first franchise to notch 2 pics above $1billion. LOTR has only 1 entrant and Harry Potter has 0

I guess it will cross $700 million OS before it's fifth weekend in release (less than a month?).
And it may be able to beat DMC's WW total.

With that number it means that it is still earning about $8m-$9m weekdays...which are more than quite a few movies have in their entire weekends $700m should have already fallen, and it looks like this will be very close to $750m by end of this weekend

Last weekend actuals should have been higher. Japan itself went up by 2M. Unfortunately we dont get weekend actuals reported anywhere. its just estimates for OST.

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean 4 (INTL) $701m & counting...
While we do know these Pirates are quite big in OS markets, this is just WOW. Even with 3D (which I personally thought was non-existent) this is going to make more than $750m OS which has been done only twice It has a very good shot to cross AIW for WW total given that $800m OS is looking highly likely now unless the movie just dies from here on. I seriously doubt HP will get the necessary legs to beat this OS total

So we'll have at least two 1B grossers this year WW just like 2010. I wonder if we'll be able to continue the trend every year from now on.

Technically there were 3 movies to cross 1B dollar WW in 2010 with Avatar. Given that the OS markets have become so big there is a chance that we see one 1B WW grosser every year, but 3D played a big factor for these movies. If 3D fades you never know what would happen...though I am still surprised at how far any of these movies are from Titanic, leave alone Avatar.

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean 4 (INTL) $701m & counting...
Next year TDKR and Hobbit 1 have the only chance. Following year there is hobbit 2 plus monsters university could be a long shot. 1st one is similar to TS2. in fact MI grossed almost 75M in japan which just in 2d will probably mean 120M+. Japan being the market which has strongest 3d boost could mean 150M. it was very strong in UK plus south america. So it could have an OS run like TS3.
