This is gonna make 188 million MORE than the universally loved Thor Ragnarock? The articles are hyping this to the extreme. The last article I noticed said it was outselling ALL comicbook films EVER. Well...we'll see but if this opening isn't like 175 million that's gonna be a let down.

Literally (like actually literally) everyone I know wants to see this. All my friends who rarely go to the theaters want to see this. The stellar reviews are going to be enough to drive up demand and the legs will be solid even with the frontloading due to repeat viewings and the event status it will create that will cause people wanting to catch it on later weekends.

Re: Black Panther 325m+ club I mean crazier things have happend, but unless IW ends up being trash I don't see how BP tops it domestically. The worst case scenario I see for IW is $450M which is likely the ceiling for BP and even that is not a lock.

Re: Black Panther 325m+ club Yes. BP surely needs $200m+ OW that's not going to happen. Remember CA:CW where some thought it will break OW record (maybe I was in the same train as well). You have to remember that the marketing is completely devoid of any other MCU character which will prevent it from being HUGE out of the gate but even if this works as a preview to IW it is STILL just that epilogue to "one" of the wars that will occur in IW. Also the Avengers "series" is running at a different tangent even though every faithful MCU fan is coming it has an upper cap of $600m+ (unadjusted) that the first film attracted so the casual audience can enjoy only the third movie in this series without really understanding everything that has happened in these other movies.

Who would've predicted last year that Wonder Woman would handily outgross Justice League? Avengers are growing tired.

I understand that they hype for BP is in full force but people are forgetting what a single trailer for Avengers did last year.
