Re: July 20-22 Predictions
Mamma Mia is the first opener to appear on MT. It's on there at #3 with 10.1% of ticket sales.

Equalizer still hasn't shown up. Mamma Mia is #2.

Mamma Mia has Imax? Weird.
Definitely seems like it will be #1 though. I’ll up my prediction by $10m to $37m.

Re: July 20-22 Predictions
Dark Web is also BH Tilt. They mostly focus on online advertising which causes low grosses for their films. Who knows how it would have done with proper promotion. It's not a sequel to a really well-liked film. But it could have opened to 7-9 Million I think.

Superb 4pm turnout for EQ2, largely older crowd, as expected. Hoping the audience reaction will resurrect my interest in it. Reviews have rained on that parade.

4 p.m. equalizer sold out at my theater. The 7:15 show is close. I guess people love them some Denzel kicking ass.

Re: July 20-22 Predictions
Here's what my theater has sold for tickets today for the openers.
Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again
7:00 - 79 7:15 - 80 8:00 - 31 (just a 44 seat theater) 9:35 - 13 10:00 - 28 10:15 - 7
Equalizer 2
4:00 - 10 7:00 - 5 7:30 - 11 10:15 - 2 10:30 - 0
Unfriended: Dark Web
7:00 - 4 10:15 - 2
I'm surprised Equalizer isn't doing a bit better. But Mamma Mia will be more front-loaded probably. I think people are more likely to buy tickets in advance to it.

Re: July 20-22 Predictions
From presales, Equalizer 2 looks to do about $24.5m for the weekend.
Mamma Mia 2 is hard to gauge due to heavy presales. Maybe $38m OW?
Unfriended 2 is doing very poorly in presales. $3m OW incoming.

Re: July 20-22 Predictions
I think I predicted about $29 mil for E2, $44 mil for MM2, and $3 mil for UF2.

Re: July 20-22 Predictions
Hence the probably. I didn't expect such a huge Saturday drop for MM2.

Seems like they're now releasing all of the previously rejected posters. What an awful poster.

Re: July 20-22 Predictions
The Spy Who Dumped Me is having sneak previews tonight. I am indifferent toward this particular movie, but I miss when this practice was more common.

Me too. I miss the sneak preview doubleheaders. This had to have stop close to twenty years ago or so? I wonder what killed it.
