Weekend Box-Office Analysis (Nov 18-20, 2011)
As expected with the new Twilight Saga entry being released the box-office has experienced a tremendous increase this weekend as the Top 12 went up for the third time in a row. The Top 12 drew almost exactly $215 million, representing a 69.9% rise over the preceding weekend and even a 15% increase over the same weekend last year when the penultimate Harry Potter movie opened at the top of the charts. Overall, this weekend’s Top 12 cume is the 6th-largest in history and the third-largest this year (behind July 15-17 and May 27-29). That just goes on to show the box-office strength this year.
