 Re: H2 Predictions
I could see this opening as low as 12 million, Zombie really needs to get his head on straight. The last one had horrendous WOM, but had the marketing ploy of a remake. This next one will seem like sequel to a terrible remake.

 Re: H2 Predictions
Think of what happened to The Grudge 2 and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. And those actually had somewhat well-liked predecessors. The only thing going for it is that the Halloween franchise has always been kinda consistent. I mean even Halloween: Resurrection made over $30 million.
I'd say (provided it will get an August release date again):
Opening Weekend - $17 million
Total Gross - $36 million

 Re: H2 Predictions
I don't think the first one had really awful WOM. It did amongst geeks (and God knows I hated it), but every 'real' person I've met seems to like it.

It won't do well enough to get T-Rex financed, which is the real reason Zombie's doing H2.

 Re: H2 Predictions
Now that it's opening over Labour Day Weekend and i realised my $46 prediction total wasn't a big enough drop off for a horror sequel...
$22,000,000 4 day. $40,000,000

 Re: H2 Predictions
Remember, guys -- even Halloween: Resurrection adjusts to $37 million, and it was a no-hype sequel to a 'final chapter' that opened in mid-July.

 Re: H2 Predictions
I think it helped Halloween that it was the first major horror flick in a long, long time. Captivity barely existed, Hostel Part II and 28 Weeks Later didn't make much, etc. It was actually a really weak year for horror leading up to Halloween, if I recall.
H2 has Final Destination 4 a week before it.
But the long weekend helps. I'll say $23m 4-day and $44m total.
