I just started hearing Switchfoot's supposedly "new" single "Dare You To Move" on the radio. I was skeptical, and then I knew why...

I picked up my A Walk to Remember soundtrack, and noticed "Dare You To Move" by Switchfoot was a single on it.

The CD was released in January 2002.

I mean, a little late there...?

Odd indeed.

Well, Switchfoot didn't really break out till Meant to Live became a hit (the first single sent to stations); hence the delay for Dare You to Move, their second single.

DYTM was released to Alt radio in like March. Top 40 radio is always late. Plus, the radio version is slightly different from the one from Walk To Remember.

Anyways, This Is Your Life new Switchfoot single.

Good move. I actually think it's better than Meant to Live or Dare You to Move.

Their best, in my opinion, is still "You," though.

"I Dare You to Move" was originally on Switchfoot's Grammy-nominated 3rd release "Learning to Breathe" in 2000. The same version is on "A Walk to Remember" in 2002.

When they signed a major record deal, they recorded a new, different-sounding version called "Dare You to Move" for "The Beautiful Letdown" in 2003. The 2004 re-release entitled "Beautiful Letdown" uses the same version as in 2003.

Also, the video version of "Dare You to Move" on the bonus dvd on "Beautiul Letdown" is different from the version currently showing on music video channels. It is the one from earlier in the summer that features real-life fans in the video.

And in concert, they play a different version of "Dare You to Move" as well.
