Re: Billboard chart discussion thread
I feel so out of touch, I have no idea who Juice Wrld is, but then most of the US top 10 is lost on me because I'm old and don't know the rap musics.

Re: Billboard chart discussion thread
Juice World had the song Liquid Dreams that was popular a few years back at the start of the Poprap takeover. Then he had a stroke at an airport and died in his 20s. Now people like him a lot more. That’s basically it. A sad story with a happy ending for his record label

Cardigan will be easy #1 with the video. I think Exile will be the one that sticks around though.

Re: Billboard chart discussion thread
I don't think any of the songs from Taylor's new album will debut at #1 but a Top 10 entry is definitely in the cards.

Re: Billboard chart discussion thread
It's gonna have ~650k sales + ~45-50M youtube views. Those kind of numbers could take down Old Town Road.

843k albums too, second most in the direct-to-streaming era behind only Lover's 867k. I don't think anyone else has even cracked 500k. All this without any advertising or pre-orders too. Could anyone else pull this off?

Adele is probably the only other one. Taylor won't go below 500k openings anytime soon.

Taylor Swift is the Star Wars of modern music. Drake is the Marvel.

Let's not forget that she sold 3.38 million albums in her first week of sales for 25. Unless she suddenly loses the army of album buying American moms, she'd easily be the top debut since she had her last debut.

Nice song by Billie, but she's obviously a truly emo person, she needs to throw in a lighter song like Bad Guy again sometime

Yeah, My Future is pretty dope.
I saw Harry was killing it on itunes last week so not too surprised by the #1. Any reason for this big jump though?

Why is WAP so popular when every Cardi song post I Like It has flopped?

zwackerm wrote: Why is WAP so popular when every Cardi song post I Like It has flopped? It's novel due to how dirty it is. It's the closest thing to porn written in music form I've seen. It also caught on with BLM cause some people were mad it had a white girl in Kylie acting as the madam of the house in it, and then Ben Shapiro read all the lyrics aloud leading to the autotune remix.

Yeah it sucks I hope it doesn’t stabilize and become some sort of 10 week number one.

Yasss Watermelon Sugar. I hope the video for that was little better but good to see Styles getting #1 from Fine Line, it's my favorite album of the year.
