Note: l know very little about any of your tastes in music, so all of these are totally blind recommendations...but l highly suggest you take them. And of course, some of you may have heard some, or all of these...but oh well...

Artist - Album - Best Songs (or at least very good / good starting points)

Arcade Fire - Funeral - Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels), Neighborhood #2 (Laika), Neighborhood #3 (Power Out), Crown of Love
Boy Sets Fire - Tomorrow Come Today - High Wire Escape Artist, White Wedding Dress
Brand New - Your Favorite Weapon - Jude Law and a Semester Abroad, Seventy times 7
Bright Eyes - I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning - Another Travelin' Song, Road to Joy, At the Bottom of Everything
Broken Social Scene - You Forgot It In People - Anthems for a Seventeen Year-old Girl, Capture the Flag
The Coral - Nightfreak and the Sons of Becker - Grey Harpoon, Migraine
The Decembrists - Castaways and Cut-Outs - July, July!, A Cautionary Song
Frou Frou - Detailes - Let Go, It's Good To Be In Love, Psychobabble
Iron & Wine -The Creek Drank The Cradle - Lion's Mane, Promising Light
Lucky Boys Confusion - Throwing the Game - One To The Right, Bossman, Dumb Pop Song
Men Without Hats - UNKNOWN - (only heard, but both brilliant) The Safety Dance, Pop Goes The World
OK Go - OK Go - C-C-C-Cinnamon Lips, Hello, My Treacherous Friend, You're So Damn Hot
Treble Charger - Wide Awake Bored - Brand New Low, American Psycho, Funny
TV On The Radio - Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes - Ambulance, Poppy, Dreams
The Streets - A Grand Don't Come For Free - Dry Your Eyes, What is He Thinking, Empty Cans
The Zutons - Who Killed ...The Zutons - Zuton Fever, Railroad

l've left off some stuff that is more accessible that l really love, because l figured many know them. (The Used, TBS, Unwritten Law, Queens of the Stone Age, Modest Mouse, etc) l've only recently gotten in to a lot of these, as well, so if anyone wants to rec me some from the above bands but different CDs or something, that could be cool. Or other bands, too. Or don't.

The Streets in general suck.

They use mediocre hooks to surround cockney "ned/chav" lyrics that basically promote everything that sucks about the UK.
Awful awful awful.

right...well, l'm from florida and l don't know what sucks about the UK. What l do know is A Grand Don't Come For Free (and to a lesser extent Original Pirate Material) is a great album. Maybe it's different for Brits, but l know a few that share my opinion. l just think they're highly original, different, fun songs.
