Do you guys listen to any bands that aren't famous? I listen to a few bands that none of my friends had never even heard of till I talked about them. Tom Waits and Humple Pie are both amazing and very few people I know have ever listened to them. Do any of you guys listen to anybody that we here might not know of?

My favorite artist of all time if probaly not known around the US. Her name is Utada Hikaru, a Japanese artist that had an English album that came out in October but it didn't do so well... The album's great though, it's a mixture of Pop/R&B but it's way better than most of the other pop acts out there as it's not very mainstream/generic.

A lot of the older stuff that used to be famous that I listen to and none of my friends seem to know who they are. I wouldn't count it as not being famous because bands like Led Zeppelin who used to be the biggest thing ever but my friends only know the song Stairway to Heaven. I also got a friend who listens to a whole bunch of punk bands that I've never heard of.

Taj Mahal! lol such a funny name for a band. I think I've heard a couple of their songs before. Not sure though but the name strikes a cord in my brain.

It's even funnier -- it's a person, not a band.

He's not Indian, either.

You should try it, though. It's a mixture of bluegrass, folk, r&b, jazz, and rock. Or, in short, blues. But, his stuff tends to be much more upbeat and quick than, say, Clapton's moody work.

I know they're well-known with any music fan, but it seems none of my friends know who the hell Radiohead is. I don't think they're less-known, but I could be wrong.
