No other Disney film has been able to master the opening song like Beauty and the Beast did. The style of the song is so timeless with its orchestral instrumentation and Paige's flawless vocals. Her character is so well established in the song, and it also gives some foreshadowing to the true character of Gaston as will be revealed later in the film. I'm sure this number was dazzling in 1991, when little of this scale had been attempted by Disney previously, and it still dazzles now. Most attempts to recreate this style of opening feel cliched and tired, this song may have been a lightning in a bottle type phenomenon.

I want this to be my first dance song at my wedding. It's just a euphoric song, my soul feels like it leaves my body when I hear it. Salonga's voice is so beautiful, it's nice eventually she got her own song as the voice of Mulan, but I would've loved a solo song for Jasmine. This song solidifies Menken as the absolute king of Disney music, and he would never match its greatness again.

I figured Aladdin would be #1.

Surprised at no other Moana songs in top 50 like You're Welcome or We Know the Way

You're Welcome just missed the top 50. We Know the Way probably would've missed the top 100.

In regards to Poor Unfortunate Souls, I used to love it but in recent years I just find it a bit slow. Friends on the Other side is very similar but much more energetic and especially visually interesting. I think it was somewhere in the 60's.
