I mean, when you re-program your computer. I just wonder how it was done, and what you thought of it. I'm asking because I'm considering doing it too. There's some stuff I want to rid my computer of. |

Well, for my dad's new computer, we had to do it, like, the first week because of a problem with one of the programs on his computer. Personally, I don't like it very much. It was okay for him, since it was only a week and he lost nothing. But, if you have a lot of stuff on there, you'll lose it all. I'd burn everything (all files, etc.) before doing it. |

Yeah, that goes without saying. What worries me is if the re-installation does some damages, or doesn't go well. Plus, is it worth the effort in terms of restoring your computer to its old speed? My comp seemed to have slowed during the last 2 years I've owned this comp. :???: Thanks for your comments, btw, Zingaling. |

it's ok if you don't have a lot of important files on your comp. if you do, it's really a hassle to save them to a disk beforehand. i did it to my current computer a couple months after i got it because i somehow got a trojan horse on it. i didn't have very many programs or files on there and it turned out fine. |

Ive done it, very simple. Just make sure if you do it ... totally delete the old partition and make a new one. |

Does it get you back to how the computer was at the beginning? I don't know if I have to re-do the whole internet connection thing, urgh. |

depends what kind of connection you have, but yes you probably will. If you delete nd re-create a partition the computer will be totally factory, right how it was the first time you turned it on |

Partitions are a omputers way of building walls on your hard drive. It allows you to, if you wanted, install two operating systems on the same computer. I am sure Box only has one partition, but I still find it best to delete and recreate the partition. It is just a way of making sure everything is completly gone, and you are starting totally from scratch. It is much more useful when dealing with viruses. |

Sorry but I understand what you said bit I don't know / understand it. like where are these partitions or how do you add an extra one, etc. |

I've done over 30 system recoveries on 2 computers in the past 3 years. Last month I did like 8 on my brand new computer because it kept breaking on me. |
