 Working From Home
So I just finished training at my new job in credit card collections and theyve sent us to work from home until likely the spring.Since we can only take inbound calls from home, I only get a call every 45 minutes ish. So I basically do nothing all day except take 6 or so 5-30 minute phone calls. It feels remarkably like I’m unemployed and doing nothing all day. Any tips for how to feel productive while I work from home? I can pretty much do anything as long as I stay within earshot if the phone ringing.

 Re: Working From Home
I think the best to use this time would be to study or learn something new which might help you in your career. I have a similar thing and I watch movies instead but given that you are much younger than me this might be a great time do that (it still depends on your interest though). Our minds are sort of focused during this period so its easier to study/learn something new.

Aslo yes, I'm mad at you being mad about working from home while there's a shitton of people who don0t have that choice and are DYING because of it.
You complaning about it is the literal meaning of privilege.

 Re: Working From Home
I see that argument as I literally am tested every week for work, constant fear as people in the building have had it, and have gone through lockdowns, etc, have had people I know die, and others who have had it still not fine months later.
However, I don't think he is complaining about having to work from home, simply wants to maximize his time while at home, which is not a bad mentality to have. Wanting to better yourself when an opportunity to grow comes about is not privilege. Not like we can really help though, make a list of things you want to do that you can do while on the clock, and try to get through some of them.
There's a great program where you can write letters to older people stuck in assisted living basically abandoned during the pandemic that are looking for pen pals. Get creative with your time.

You complaning about it is the literal meaning of privilege. Yeah Im not trying to complain. I did work out of the house from March-July full time and I still work part time at my grocery store job though, so you can screw off about me not putting myself at risk lol. If the grocery store job paid as well as the bank job, I’d go back in a heartbeat. I’m not worried about the virus.

Just because people have it worse than you doesn’t mean you can’t wish for better circumstances or don’t get bored/miserable. In the rare times when things are slow I’ll usually have my personal laptop next to my work one and catch up on shows.
