I think in the long run we should just start calling guys Karen too. The Amy Cooper situation was a conflict between black male Karen vs white racist female Karen. The guy was carrying dog treats even though he doesn't have a dog to lure dogs after he convinced their owners to put leashes on them. Max Karen right there.

I use the name to label anyone, male or female, displaying privileged douche behavior. Just a few days ago I was curbside waiting on an order and this man was outside yelling at the restaurant staff walking the orders out to let her inside to order because it's "not their right" to not let her inside. That's a Karen.

Isn't Karen a label for a white person who behaves like a spoiled drama queen, feeling entitled, and demanding others (often people of color) treat them like they are superior? The usage has a racial undertone. It describes a phenomenon that originates from a racist history of serfdom and slavery.

Dammit I hit the wrong one and it registered me as saying yes to #1. My fault; I read it too fast and thought "Is the stereotypical karen a racist person?" and not "Is the use of the term Karen racist?"

No, of course it isn't. You choose to act like a karen, no one forces you to say and do these stupid things. You're getting judged for being a karen-like person, not because you're white. Although while all whites are not karens, pretty much all karens are white.

'Karen' is really just a call-out to entitled women. It really could apply to a POC potentially. I have heard 'Chad' used in the same vain.

Kind of? It originated from a white woman on a TV show right? But I've seen it used quite a lot against anyone who has a "can I speak to the manager" attitude and that includes non-white people as well. I would say it's borderline.

Not necessarily. A Karen tends to be a white women in her 30s and 40s in any social class who feels that she is entitled to any service while demeaning those she feels are beneath here. It also applies to busybodies who tend to stick their nose in other peoples business where no intended harm was meant or something very trivial. It could be like that incident where a family is having a BBQ at a park that disallows it after 6pm and you have thise entitled woman pull up her cell phone to rat them out
