On average, female sports are not as profitable as male ones, thus the lower pay. Do they deserve equal pay anyway? Or should female sports become more popular first?

Profitable in what way? Are male sports more profitable because they're marketed more?

On average, our American female teams are far more successful than their male counterparts. I don't know the numbers as far as TV viewership and sales in regards to merchandise. I can't imagine it's that much of a difference to explain away the much lower pay.

Do I think WNBA players should be paid more? Yes. As much as NBA players? No. Because the NBA does FAR more in viewership and sales. But I think women should be allowed to try out for an NBA team. Ditto for all major sports.

But this is a silly question. You're essentially asking about the USWNT and the USMNT, right? Because there aren't many/any other sports where there are both women's and men's versions, professionally.

If their sport isn't as popular as the men's version, of course they shouldn't making the same amount. I guess when the Williams sisters were as big as the men they had a legitimate grip though.

If women want WNBA players to be paid the same, they could start by watching it. Equal pay for equal profit generation.

That I can agree with. McGregor is worth more than Roussey, but probably not $13M more. Even if she got embarassed, her big comeback fight was a huge draw.

How would that work? Maybe horse racing or curling or something like that.

UFC, baseball, soccer, football, basketball, boxing, tennis, wrestling, and golf are all sports where women could try and compete (I have no problem with that) but they'd never make a team so the effect would be ending women's sports.

I don't think there's rules prohibiting them from playing on those teams. They're just not good enough to make it, mostly for physical reasons. There have been women who've tried in hockey, golf and NASCAR
