I was a Boy Scout for seven years and I was presented with my Eagle Award tonight. I was wondering if any of you were ever involved. |

In the UK, I don't believe girls are called Scouts. Though I could be wrong. But I thought they were called the Girl Guides. And I was in the Scouts for, like, two weeks. |

Long story short, went out with a closeted boy scout in high school, who was secretly using his boy scout mentor for money in exchange for... yeah. But that was years ago so whatever! Before that I didn't realize you could be a boy scout past 12. |

Eagle, 53 merit badges, Pinewood Derby champion 2 times, and even won 2 cake competitions. It was odd getting it after I completely lost interest, but I figured it would be good for a college resume, to complete it, but by that time I was already accepted, I have a late birthday. Though I went skydiving the same day, and the town calls it "Your name" day usually. Hope it was fun! Worst thing I remember about scouts was that Girls were a joke but their cookies were phenomenal. We couldn't do that, we had to sell some awful caramel corn type bullshit that no one ever wanted. No "Canteen Boy" stories here either. |

Also I don't think Girl Scouts is a joke, just one particular troop when I was growing up. My mom was actually a brownie and then a scout master for my sister, so me and my brother (Also an Eagle) would go on their camping trips too, as " kind of like" counselors. |

Agreed. We had to sell super expensive popcorn that no one wanted. Girl scouts have it easy. Everyone loves/wants their cookies. Oh, and I got 42 merit badges. |

I only needed a few more merit badges to be an eagle scout, but just around that time, I started High School and joined the drama club and they had girls. |
