So sad. Sounds like it was a complete freak accident.

RIP, I especially enjoyed Yelchin in Charlie Bartlett. Sad as his untimely death is, it couldn't be better timed to give the new Star Trek movie's box office a serious bump. Heath Ledger died, The Dark Knight makes $1 billion. Paul Walker died, Furious 7 makes $1.5 billion. Anton Yelchin died, Star Trek makes $2 billion?

Except Yelchin isn't as famous as those two.

Sad news. I love him in Like Crazy and Fright Night.

Paul Walker never was very famous. The "hype" around his death made people belive that he was.

The difference is, though, that Yelchin died very close to the film's release. There is not enough time to turn this into some sort of a hype thing.

But Walker was a recognizable face of the Fast & Furious franchise. Yelchin is not recognizable to people like Walker.

Such a freak accident too. If it weren't late at night, he might have been seen and saved.

Man he was such a good actor. RIP.

The details of the accident sound strange. He got out of his car and it rolled back? I wonder what he was doing, like getting something in his trunk? Ugh.

Could be to check mails if the mailbox is at the bottom of the driveway. Certainly has a Final Destination type of vibe to it. Very sad.

Walker might not have been able to open a movie, but I remember him having like 20 million facebook fans before his death.

The hype machine is more efficient than ever, having been honed on those two other profitable deaths. Watch it swing into action between now and July 22nd.

Well, I'm not sad at all. I'm so glad I won't be seeing him in movies anymore!

Cannot wait to see who else dies this year. It's a pretty monumental year for celebrity deaths.

How does one get trapped between a car and a post box? I don't get it. Aren't post boxes on wooden posts? I would think it would fall over if a car rolled into it, and how the hell could he not move quick enough? Perhaps he was intoxicated, with which he shouldn't have been driving anyway. I assume he was the driver since if there were other people around, he probably wouldn't have died.

I assumed it was a large, maybe brick structure housing a mailbox or mailboxes.

It was a brick pillar.

Post subject:  Re: RIP Anton Yelchin

Ok, that makes a difference. Still strange, though. I mean, how many deaths per year are caused by being squashed between a car and a post box?
