Dom Quinto you are a piece of shit. WHY WHY would you invent such a loud useless piece of crap?
You blow the leaves on your neighbours place and he blows it back. IT DOESNT MAKE FUCKING SENSE!
The caretaker here just stands around with this crap of shit and makes noise so everyone thinks.....oh he is doing work! And what does he do? HE BLOWS THE SHIT ON THE OTHER HOUSE s GROUND! :grrr: AND GUESS WHAT THE CARETAKER FROM THE OTHER HOUSE DOES THE NEXT DAY? IT DOESNT MAKE FUCKING SENSE!WHAT IT DOES IS NOISE 24/7

If you think you have to waste gasoline.....then burn the stupid shit. OK. It is a stupid way too but at least the shit is gone then AND CANT BE BLOWN BACK THE NEXT FRIGGGIN DAY!

And ever though of the poor hedgehog getting blown away with 100 MPH?

I don't think you're supposed to blow it into your neighbors yard. I think you're supposed to blow it into a pile in yours. Maybe into the street?

I absolutely hate those machines. All they do is blow the stuff all over the place. Disperse it really. Anytime I see these things in use at a company's property it's so annoying. They walk around just blowing the stuff off the parking lot to another spot. No picking up nothing. Just let the wind blow it away instead of walking around with these noise machines.

It's supposed to be instead of a rake, but no one uses it that way.

LOL, this is exactly what I have been thinking since pretty much the first time I have ever seen them. Such useless things.

I never understood why they didn't make a leaf-vacuum cleaner instead of a lead blower. They are stupid and do not make your life easier. You blow the leaves, then you have to collect them all and put them in a bag or bin. But with a "leaf sucker", your work would be cut down a lot more.

Because this way you would have to deal with the leaves (burn it store it whatever). Easier just to blow it away.

Chippy is correct. The leaf blower was intended to make a pile. We have garbage collection for the pile. And a leaf vacuum, either gas, or electric-powered like a cordless vacuum, was the alternate idea. This was a suggestion back in the 1970's during the previous drought in California. People hosed their walkways with a garden hose, and we were out of water then, though not as badly as we are these days.

The Dom Quinto story from the 1950's is mighty fishy, He had a gas-powered sprayer which was not intended as a blower. The Wikipedia entry states that users were removing the sprayer to use the device as a leaf blower, but I wonder if the nozzle was removable, or just the spray tank? And then as a sprayer, why would anyone use a blower on walkways that risks deposition of insecticides, etc.?
And...I saw Nobody in the California early 70's using a blower. They were not even available for sale in the stores. Nobody heard of them. Only water hoses and Jet-X were available, and this was during that last great 70's drought. And consider that water usage was and is under heavy State penalty for wasting it on lawns and sidewalks during a severe drought. No, I don't think so.
I am still waiting for my dowry and I hate to be disappointed.

There is a problem with a leaf vacuum. It would need to be a larger device with a large pickup port and more powerful vacuum since, in a smaller unit, leaves and twigs would need to be chopped or ground by whirling blades to prevent the debris from jamming the smaller hose. So that becomes a safety consideration, except for a hefty tractor model. More like a lawn tractor with vacuum.

Yep. Leaf vacuums tend to be larger units. Heh. My "old friend of the family". Black & Decker...
Some days just ain't worth getting up for, and the older I get, the more pieces I find missing from my person.
