It will still have provocative images, but not nude. Their reasoning is that Internet porn is free, so people won't pay for it any longer. My guess is that they noticed sales were down and they want to create some media exposure. But now it seems like they will just become another Maxim, FHM etc. |

Seems like decent idea, there's still buyers of Maxim levels of nudity and they can build around the articles now more and get celeb covers more... Maybe get a little on that Esquire/GQ men's lifestyle corner also and become the magazine for players or wannabe players, suit bros and frat guys etc. |

So they can't squeeze into that market? Bollocks. |

I just think that the Playboy name is difficult to shake off and people interested in the kind of stuff that Shack describes would feel less awkward buying those magazines than, well, Playboy. |

It's just the USA Playboy. German Playboy will still have nudity, so not everything is lost, Filmo. Don't know about other countries Playboy, but I figure that they will follow Germany's way if they are European. |

I give it 18 months before they either go back to nudity or stop printing and go online, with the latter being most likely. That's probably why Hef even agreed to it in the first place. Lose the nudity or lose the print version. He probably doesn't want to give that up while he's still alive. |

The people who still buy playboy (seriously no one buys it for the porn, that's why the Internet was created) won't really care. Those are the people that actually like the articles. |

Thegun is always the best at mass generalisations with nothing to support his statements. |

I think people who still buy playboy for porn is done. Honestly it used to be big stars or anniversaries that sold really well. Now unless you have a free membership, what's the point. I honestly don't see this end up being a big deal. In fact it probably leads way to an even huger event when they go back for special occasions |

I suspect the nudity and great photo art will be retained for the Christmas edition. Because it's traditional. I think this is not the first time. I could be mistaken, but I seem to remember a Playboy-sans-nudity edition for public libraries and universities. Many years ago. |
