It must be the Breitbart.com type of people that are pushing him so high in the polls. I bet they didn't realize he had donated to both parties in the past |

Being serious for a second, there is a real demand - from folks in both parties - for a candidate who has some of the qualities Trump has. His general theme that "politicians are all talk and no action" is wisely agreed upon, as is his further message that USA has great potential it isn't currently fulfilling and none of these career politicians are going to help us reach it. The blunt, direct language, brutal honesty- there is a huge crowd of people who are beyond ready to move on from the "use a whole lot of words to say almost nothing at all" style and really crave somebody who gives it to them straight and tells it like it is. A lot more people are ready to move on the "ultra PC" era we've had the past few decades. Beig PC should never get in the way of telling the truth if need be. Trump is the polar opposite of the standard conventional politician and in many ways that is a simply fantastic quality in and of itself. In many ways, his stand off with NBC and co. will likely help him in the polls, largely because most sensible people know those companies are taking what he said out of context and greatly exaggerating its effect. It effectively is censorship; punishing someone for stating a different opinion which was effectively true and only offensive if taken way out of context; which is bizarre given he didn't say anything unreasonable. Now all the Republican voters who agree with his view point are suddenly going to feel sorry/defensive on his behalf with all these people over reacting to his comments, and Trump playing hardball and not backing down and threatening massive lawsuits for backing out of binding contracts because Trump said an uncomfortable truth will only score him the much needed leadership points with voters. NBC, Univsion, et al's actions have only legitimized Trump's place in the race for many Republican voters. Anybody in their right mind agrees him on the issue. You obviously have to secure the border, right now it's a mess - duh. It was an 08 issue Obama really didn't address after economy tanked weeks before the general election. I have to be honest, right now I almost feel sorry for him. There was literally nothing wrong with his comments about what kind of people make up the illegal aliens coming over the fence, and the guy is one of the few Republicans wise enough to know deporting them all is ridiculous. It will be amusing when the debates begin in a month and all these people currently trashing Trump as a racist start bashing him for his desire for a pathway to citizenship for working illegals already here. Trump is such a racist....he's just about the only GOPer bluntly stating it's inhumane to punish hard working folks already here, but...he said something which when taken way out of context could be perceived as offensive, so yeah, clearly he is a racist. ![]() Never imagined id be defending Trumps candidacy but here i am. |

Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush are both in favor of a path to citizenship, if that is your thing, and they both speak fluent Spanish and can make the point much more kindly than Trump. Your point above just helps show the incoherence of Trump. He hates crony capitalism yet made his coin (not including inheritance) from casinos, which require licenses from the corrupt state of New Jersey and some skid greasing. Not to mention many of his endeavors failed. |

He will guarantee a Democrat landslide and it is getting to the point where Trump has burned so many bridges that he can ot back out. |

Trump is a hybrid of Mitt Romney's business success on steroids & Newt Gingrich's fiery personality. It's almost impossible to imagine him winning but he has the ability to totally change the election. |

Here's to hoping! |

I don't think the GOP is as out of touch this go round as they have been in the past few elections. I think between Jeb, Rubio, and now Trump all saying a pathway to citizenship for productive illegals is needed, the GOP should come around this time around. Curious to see how Trump's views on universal healthcare will effect the rest of the GOP. I still think Hillary will win in the end, but just as the Warren/Sanders wing of the left is clearly going to make an impact, I think the forceful, blunt message of Trump will show some influence over the right as well. Trump with strong polling will be an absolute nightmare for anybody trailing him. The biggest impact Trump may make, IMO, is creating the desire for THAT type of voice in the game. Wouldn't surprise me if Fiorina gets the VP to not only appeal to women but continue the business person/ blunt & direct characteristics Trump currently symbolizes. |

I was under the impression that 95% of people including basically all women and minorities fucking hate Trump. What is wrong with people Trump vs Clinton main would be amazing for the media though. A lot of people hate him but a lot of people respect him, too. After the Bush and Obama years, it is likely clear to many that professional competence is more important than personal likability. Trump will never win but I do think there is a MASSIVE demand for some of the qualities he possesses. |

The other thing to remember is how this works. In the last election, we started off and Perry was in the lead, and he proclaimed that it was all over. Then a month later it was Cain. Oh, he's definitely the one now! A month later it was Gingrich. He's sure to get it! A month later, it was Santorum. Finally it was Romney. Seriously, polls this early mean nothing. However, I am still hoping Trump gets it. Here's a link to the 2012 polls: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls ... -1452.html |

Did he also have people whose children or other relatives were murdered by citizens? He's pointing out such a tiny minority of the "illegal" population. It's insane. |
