Let's just cut the shit. I'm a Republican and the idea of any of the potential candidate's beating Hillary is hilarious. Their only hope was that she stayed out. Hopefully round 2 of the Clinton's is as fun as round 1 was, for anyone who remembers the 1990s. Bill as the inaugural First Sir/Man/Guy/Dude/Bubba will be classic. ![]() |

I wish I could share your confidence. I could easily see Americans choosing, say, Jeb Bush over her in a general election. |

I support Hillary, but I feel that despite their being little opposition from either party, it's going to be much more difficult this time around. |

David wrote: I could easily see Americans choosing, say, Jeb Bush over her in a general election. Do you have downs? McCain and Romney would have been excellent Presidents. Both lost largely due to the enormous stench surrounding the Bush presidency. Obama saw a huge poll bump in 2012 after Bill Clinton's hour long speech for fucks sake. Now he is basically on the ticket. Jeb was always the smarter Bush but if it's Jeb v. Hillary, Hilldog will take every swing state sans Florida for sure, and even Florida is up the air. |

I am just going to pretend your Down-syndrome reference is not there. ![]() Hillary faces obstacles. Do not pretend her win is inevitable. She is not an instantly charismatic or sympathetic person. A lot of people simply, purely, instinctively see her as cold, cynical, deceitful, too comfortable wielding influence, etc. Old and not-so-old blunders and controversies (Whitewater, Monica Lewinsky, lost Secretary of State e-mails) will bleed anew. Many on the left believe she is too eager for war and too close to Wall Street. History in general proves it is hard for a political party to win the White House three times in a row. And beneath our best wishes for equality, we do not truly know if America, once her electorate is at their respective polling places privately staring down a list of candidates, is ready to elect a female president, particularly if she is facing a center-right, non-Mormon white man with a strong jaw and an air of you-are-safe-with-me, down-home charisma. |

No matter if it's Hillary or Jeb, there's going to be bush in the white house. |

lol ![]() That reminds me of a joke that went around when I was in the 7th grade in 1990 - something like "What do Saddam Hussein and panty hose have in common? They both irritate bush" or some nonsense like that. |

In a word - she's not Bill. ![]() So I agree - she's no lock for the Presidency, especially if the Republican's can settle on a likeable centre-right candidate. Also, is Jeb really a lock for the Republican nomination? Certainly a long way to go yet. |

Hillary is great. Lots of accomplishments and so genuine. She has so many fresh ideas. |

If Hillary loses, it will have nothing to do with being a woman--except maybe a backlash against the constant harping on her being a woman and if you don't support her you support the "war on women." |

Hillary is not my first choice but in all the years I've been voting for Presidents, the only time my first choice won the nomination was with Obama. The Democrats have this to lose. They can, of course, but they're the safe bet. Here's why: http://ventrellaquest.com/2014/12/02/5- ... e-in-2016/ |

I would vote for Alan Alda's character from The West Wing, but alas, that type of republican does not exist. Hillary is not my first choice but is miles above who is running for the Right in my eyes. |

Chippy wrote: There's not a single republican I would consider voting for. That is because you are a Democrat, so it makes sense. Though not a Republican, there is no Democrat that I would vote for and that is because I am a partisan and have opinions that I look for in candidates and the R/D marker is helpful in evaluating how close they are to me. |

I've voted for mickey mouse three presidential elections in a row, both parties suck. Will still most likely give Hillary my vote. |

Have to think any old white conservative opponent has no chance against her. Something like Warren is interesting alternative. You still get to vote Democrat and a woman but without as much inner Washington baggage or general icy untrustworthiness as Hillary |
