Theoretically it *should* be the girl's decision, but I think the boyfriend is in the right. I would've been pissed in high school if my boyfriend went to prom with an older girl even if they were "just friends."

Like, prom is a big deal. I dunno, though. I think you should just ask her and see what she says, unless the dude is tough and is gonna give you a beatdown.
