The scuffle happened around 3:30 AM on January 25 during a Sundance party at the nightclub Tao. Police were called after Bernfeld, who is VP of Paramount Digital Entertainment and Insurge Pictures, reported the incident to security. Hirsch, who has starred in Lone Survivor, Into The Wild and the miniseries Bonnie & Clyde, was in Park City for the premiere of the drama Ten Thousand Saints.

Ugh. Yes. I saw that. The point still is...how in God's name can you have a law where it is even possible to give someone 5 years for what is essentially just having a scuffle, which can happen to everyone at any time. It's ridiculous.

It must depend on how much weight the Paramount exec has with local police/judiciary.

He's apparently a major tool.

A shame as I was a fan of his earlier work in films like Into the Wild, Girl Next Door and Speedracer.

Looking back at this, I for some reason read it as being Shia Labeouf and not Emile Hirsch. I guess it just seems like something that dipshit would do that I just assumed to was him anyway.

I do like Hirsch as an actor, but if he disappeared tomorrow from acting I don't think I'd care too much, therefore my original comment stands.
