 Robin Williams dead at 63
Quote: Oscar winner and comedian Robin Williams died this morning at 63. While his publicist wouldn’t confirm that it was a suicide, they did issue this statement. “Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time.”
Williams, who won an Oscar for his supporting role in Good Will Hunting, will reprise his role as Theodore Roosevelt in the third installment of Night at the Museum this December. He had recently signed on to reprise his beloved role as Mrs. Doubtfire in a sequel to be directed by Chris Columbus and was last seen opposite Annette Bening in the indie film The Face of Love.

Re: Robin Williams dead at 63
Very sad indeed. Whether one focuses on his sterling performances in such dramas as Dead Poets Society, Good Will Hunting, and One Hour Photo or nostalgic childhood favorites such as Aladdin and Mrs. Doubtfire, Williams always loomed large on the cinematic landscape.

Re: Robin Williams dead at 63
He must've rewatched Toys.
Nah, this one just sucks. He was the heart of American comedy for the past thirty years, and a damn fine dramatic actor as well (even if the movies weren't always up to par).
I know he's been having a problem with alcohol (and maybe drugs again?) recently. I wonder if he relapsed.
This just sucks.

Multiple news outlets are confirming it. Quote: According to the Marin County coroner’s office, the cause of death is believed to be “suicide due to asphyxia.”

RIP truly one of the icons of his era, one of the few that could do great comedy and also drama.

Re: Robin Williams dead at 63
Wow.
I was just watching (2 nights ago) the Friends episode where he and Billy Crystal make a cameo appearance and was wondering what ever happened to him.
Sad. RIP

Re: Robin Williams dead at 63
My God, for me this is the most painful death in recent years after Michael Jackson's He was an iconic actor and I guess I enjoyed/liked/loved most of his movies. I'll always see him as a truly entertainer of my generation; Williams' roles were essential in some of my favorite family movies (Pan, Doubtfire, Aladdin, etc) which I used to rewatch them as a kid This is soooo Shit and SAD

This is upsetting and shocking. I suspect not many can watch or re-watch The Angriest Man in Brooklyn without making comparisons.
