uh....wtf? this is so weird. like, if it crashed, they should have been able to find it by now you would think. But it's been over 12 hours and they still have no idea where it went.

It flew over water. Crashing in the water makes it a tad more difficult to find.

But even then where it supposedly crashed isn't massively deep. This will be an interesting story to follow.

They found it yet?

Still not found. But they did find something in Vietnam.

Apparently, four of the passports used by people to get on the plane were fake. Well, not fake, but not being held by the person they were issued to. So people are suspecting a terrorist plot now.

The Xinjiang people did say that the recent knife attacks in Kunming were part of a larger plot. You never know..

Planes do not usually have trouble that high up. Honestly thinking it's terrorist related at this point. Only contrary point would be nobody taking credit for it.

The cause is one thing. The inability to find it two days later, in 21st century - that's another!

yeah this is such a werid, tragic story. I don't know how they haven't found any concrete evidence after this long.

I thought outrageously of course if this was somehow taken over by the pilot or co-pilot and flown below radar somewhere. Landed and all the passengers killed while this jet gets repainted or whatever just so it can be flown into some world monument.

Anyway, where is the plane? I know the ocean is vast beyond compare but I've seen Enemy of the State and 24. Why don't they just pull up the satellite imagery of it's last known location and look where it went. C'mon now.

I am guessing it is the bottom of the ocean. It didn't help they were looking in the wrong place for the first few days.

The Malaysia authority has really looked clueless so far. They seemed late in reacting to the plane's disappearance (waited until morning when the story broke instead of jumping on it as soon as the plane disappeared from the radar); they have given conflicting reports; and the diameter of the search area is not shrinking, but expanding after all these days.

That satellite image didn't help.

Yeah, I was hoping that would lead to it. The big problem is Malaysia has made a mess here. Really the U.S. or China should take over the investigation.

Now Indian Ocean is becoming a possibility.

Isn't there at least a partial chance the plane landed?

No one on television has addressed the question of cell phones. I am sure most of the passengers had them. Can't they...triangulate them?

Not sure where, planes that size would have trouble landing without a runway. I suppose it could have crashed near an island, but like Magnus said there wouldn't be enough water or food for all those people.

Sure seems like it was hijacked either by a passenger, or with one of the pilots in on it. It very well could have been trying to land, and then just ended up at the bottom of the ocean.

the new theory is Piracy which would be a first. I can't think of any examples of pirates trying to take over planes.

And what is the theory based on?

A conspiracy.
