Re: Libs (and others): why r white girls obsessed with runni I can speak as someone who doesn't particularly like running, but runs a lot. I do it for two reasons:
1) a lot of my friends are runners, and it's a good way to socialize/meet new people - running clubs.
2) it's the best way I've found to lose weight and keep it off.
I'm also fairly competitive, and I enjoy racing a lot.

Re: Libs (and others): why r white girls obsessed with runni I fucking hate running but I find that I cannot stop. It is an obsessive-compulsive thing mixed with an eating disorder. Like if I do not run I have difficulty eating or I just think about running and why I did not run until I just go and run.
Usually I only take breaks once I am too injured or have a hangover. Sometimes I do the latter as a way of having an excuse to not run. Even then it sometimes fails.
I much enjoy running behind a female in yoga pants. Keeps my mind away from constantly thinking about how far I have ran and when I can stop.

I stopped for almost all of my senior year of college because it was getting to a point where I couldn't run very far without experiencing a lot of pain in my right knee for several days afterward. That said, I've picked it up again this year, and I usually run between 8 and 10 miles on Saturdays. So far, so good on the knees, but we'll see whether it keeps up.
