Surprisingly not as much as I thought I would be/should be. In fact no pain at all, unless I try to chew something with the right side of my mouth. Then it hurts like hell. My dentist took me in on short otice and basically took one one side of the tooth, leaving the filling I had in it previously exposed. Now that doesn't feel very good either.I now need an appointment with an oral surgeon, who'll decide whether the tooth can be saved or whether it should be extracted. But een though time is pressing I still won't get an appontment for at least a week, which means one week chewing only on the left side of my mouth. Which is far more difficult than one tends to think... |

I am probably the last person I know my age with all four wisdom teeth still in. But as I said, one needs to go. There is enough room for all wisdom teeth in my jaw, but one of them was destroyed over years apparently and now needs to be removed surgically. The other three can stay. |

The operation wasn't bad for me so I wouldn't say having to do it twice is that bad though Libs would probably disagree. The only big negative of doing it twice outside of potential pain is probably financial, though not sure how the German healthcare system works compared to America. I don't have to pay for having wisdom teeth removed, so... |

Even though I have room for my three wisdom teeth, dentists are always coming up with phony sounding reasons to have them pulled. I tend to suspect they rip or slice them out of many people who do not necessarily need the procedure because the dental industry has turned it into this perverse type of rite of passage. |

I need one wisdom tooth removed because there is no room for it to come in all the way. Half of it is buried under a flap of gums. Its rather inconvenient. Originally I was told they would all need to be removed before they tried to come in. I was going to schedule this but the dentist said oh don't worry you have years before they will start coming in. A couple months later I could see 3 of them. Now I'm told the top 2 which have come completely in might as well be removed too just because they are so far back it is hard to brush them well enough. I should get this appointment set up. Do you have the option of just doing a local anesthetic? |
