Reading all of these Detroit stories got me curious. And I'm not 100% on how the laws would work with things of this nature... But could a company like Apple BUY the city of Detroit, or any city for that matter? |

I believe that Kim Basinger owned a town at one time and one of Walt Disney's plans was to start his own controlled community in the Orlando area (a very limited version of this exists now). One problem he ran into was that he had to comply with Federal and State laws. He couldn't control the city in the way he wanted, plus it would have been expensive, so he abandoned the idea. |

I guess you can buy everything but not staate critical stuff like the police department. But again why should a company or a person buy a city? |
