Dam, I feel like shit right now.

I have this great new script I'm working on and just can't find the energy to do it. It's been a growing problem now. I think it might be working in the field (You know full time editing, directing, and writing) that when it's finally done for the day and I want to work on something of my own, I just can't do it. My book is the same way (89 pages in, it's great and I haven't touched it for 3 months)

Maybe I just have too much on my plate right now, but it's kind of nuts going from 3 current work projects to the 3 creative projects I'm working on as well, in addition to normal everyday life. But man, I am pooped. Anyone have any good cures for writer's block or just restlessness. I never slept well to begin with but I can't even turn it off when I try to sleep.

Doesn't sound like writer's block.

I agree with Algren. It sounds as if the problems are time management and maybe a degree of exhaustion.

At least you have a very healthy ego, calling everything you put on paper great. ;) So many writers are their own most savage critics, constantly revising and changing course and questioning their creative choices.

Listen to music.

I often write longhand instead of typing. I enjoy the way the slower pace of handwriting impacts the pace of my mind and also how it creates a document of the process, even (especially) if this entails crossed out lines and notes squeezed into the sheets' margins, versus just striking the delete key.

I would recommend ambient or instrumental music, such as Brian Eno or Autechre. If one writes listening to, say, Bob Dylan or Neil Young or Nick Cave or another such artist, their distinct "voices" might start to blend with one's own writing, which is not bad, but could reduce originality and self-discovery.

Oh I'm that as well, but I like to keep thinking that until it's done then I rip it apart. I learned a long time ago it's much less productive to second guess while writing. If you have an instinct or an idea just go with it until you got nothing and the next one comes. Then go back and fine tune everything.

No sense in telling yourself this sucks. I need the motivation to keep writing on my down time, otherwise I'd just stop do something else.

I'm back, believe it or not, I bought a white board and just really organized my time, and set an alarm as to "stop what you're doing and write for an hour" last two days it seems to have worked.

Thegun, a so-called big time editor and writer, has no idea how to make gifs.

Who said they were? We can't all use the trend of saying workaholics is the most underrated show ever, now can we? That reminds me that two weeks is up. Time for a new sig.

And gifs are easy, I just don't have the patience to do them.

Dude you can do them right in final cut, all it is is an export setting. Shouldn't have said I have no idea how to make them, because that's not true. I've yet to have to make one though. Anything I've ever needed has always been online already.

I imagine, lots of people do, otherwise Thegun wouldn't have any on Google to steal.
