Big day, working the next three months on it full time. Relatively low budget, but I'm getting quite a good bit of change. There was some hesitation on whether I was going to take a real job so I could keep having benefits, but ah well, this is an opportunity I've been waiting for for a long time. I'm not sure the quality of film yet, but had a 55K budget, so here's hoping the crew knew what they were doing. I only read the script so far, which wasn't too bad. We will see. |

I applied for the job, and got it. I've been an Videographer/Editor for 6 years and a producer for two. I've edited two documentaries, one getting ready to air on PBS about Haiti, and co produced all video content for Team USA during the Paralympics. Before that I worked for CBS news in Maryland. After this, next goal is to DP (Director of Photography) or direct a feature. I've only done shorter non fiction stuff like shorts, music videos, commercials, pilot spec scripts, etc. |

2 weeks in, I've edited 23 scenes so far. Which is slightly over a quarter. Just a rough cut so far. I have to say coming from a videographer who edits all of his stuff, I am continually upset that the DPs were very unprofessional throughout. However, I'm working hard to make it work and so far, the director has been very happy which is all I care about at this point. |

Just think of all the Chinese houses without lights because of you. It's small budget so I'm actually only working 3 days a week on it, I have an hour cap I can't go over. Mondays and Fridays I do other productions or I go on auditions, and the rest I use on writing or stand up. I've never been the kind of guy that sits around and does nothing, but I always find time for the forums. |

Just finished the first cut of the film, took me 16 days, running at 93 minutes. Really wasn't as tough as I thought it would be. Director really likes it. Now it's going to get the first cut of the score, and I'm working on effects. |
