I consider both Hunt and Waltz supporting.

We need more opinions on this. Until then, the two are Lead.

Even critical groups are citing Waltz as a supporting actor. The Weinsteins' initial lead placement was borderline category fraud to clear the way for DiCaprio.

But I will, of course, go with the consensus.

Just in case: is everyone in The Avengers (except Downey) supporting?

I'd say either everyone is supporting, including Downey Jr. or RDJ, Hemsworth, Evans and Ruffalo are all leads.

Here's the reality. If Waltz is lead he won't win, but if he's supporting he might.

This does not apply to other films, though.

The studio says Hanks and Berry are leads, the rest supporting. This may be motivated more by name value than the actual content of the film, but still seems acceptable to me.

It should be up to us whatever we choose.

How are we defining Best Breakthrough? Is Jennifer Lawrence really a breakthrough anymore? or can they have past credits and still be considered?

I've put Rhian Johnson at the moment. Does it have to be one choice or five?

My top choice for the new category is Dane DeHaan. His performance is the reason to see Chronicle, and he is also very good in Lawless and Lincoln. He reminds me of a young Leonardo DiCaprio, and he has a bright future with The Place Beyond the Pines and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on the horizon.

Others I plan to nominate are Bella Heathcote (Dark Shadows, Not Fade Away) and Dwight Henry (Beasts of the Southern Wild).
