Bradley is gay and Irina was a contract girlfriend (yes, this happens all the time in the entertainment world, and yes, even if she carried his child. Hollywood is fucked up). The publicists play along because it's good publicity for both of them; Gaga's fans get to live vicariously through her, and being linked to another woman is good for Bradley's career as a macho leading man.
