Didn't you call the OW of Funny People pretty close? You could always bet large sums on intertops (kidding - I'm not encouraging gambling - though if you watch 21 or The Hangover you could get inspired to learn how to play Black Jack really well. Just don't make too much too fast or get caught counting). |

If you allow for taxes, making 2000 in a month would be closer to $17 an hour. Not easy or likely both for people the average age here or for in this current recession. |

What about that box office predicting site? I think some here are betting on films there (link in the Bash), and I know you're good at predicting, foolosopher. Risk losing money of course, and I have no idea what regular players gain/lose, but it's an idea for ya. May be able to do that while saving job cash/applying for a loan like a few others have suggested. I don't think a loan is too difficult. My parents were approved for a $4000 loan just the other day, and I'd consider them among the least likely to actually be approved. |

I'm going back to college this fall, and when the only financial aid I got was the Pell Grant, a small grant from the college (ie very small), and a very small transfer scholarship... well, I had to accept the offer of the Subsidized and Unsubsidized Stafford loans, or I wouldn't be able to attend. Thankfully, they don't base your eligibility for those loans on credit, or I'd never get 'em. The only credit I have is a $233 debt I owe to the cable company... *rolls eyes* So, yeah. Now I'm gonna be in debt, but I really, really felt like I needed to get my BA. Nowadays it seems like an AA degree today is what a HS diploma was a few years ago in terms of finding a job. They estimated my cost of attendance pretty high, so after tuition, fees, and books, I'm gonna have enough to pay rent, buy food, get supplies, etc. Now I just gotta find a job on campus so I have some spending money. It's killin' me that I'm now so close to Silver Dollar City and yet unable to even afford a season pass... (that and I don't have a car, so no way of getting there, LOL) Joy |
