No haters

It's kinda weird that this is his last tonight show episode  I grew up with him doing it, even if I didn't watch it all that often.

I probably would actually find it kind of sad and "OMG The end of an era!!!!!!!!!!" if, you know, it wasn't completely anticlimactic by him moving to 10 pm in a couple of months.

Confession: I've never watched a (full) episode of Jay Leno.

Yeah but you know that's not going to last.

His last show sucked.

I don't hate Jay. I'd watch every so often when he had Kate Beckinsale on, or a guest I wanted to see, but I never just flipped it on to watch it at random. He's just too vanilla-ish. His show was for old people.

I don't think he left any real lasting legacy.... not like Johnny Carson, and not even like the one Letterman will leave.

I'll miss the show, but it was time for it to go. He got really repetitive down the stretch. How many times did we have to hear him ripoff Dangerfield's style of comedy with the "Hey, the economy is bad!" jokes (at least he acknowledged tonight that he ripped him off)? He was never the kind of host who dared to do anything different. Headlines on Monday, Jaywalking on Tuesday, etc. Yet he was better than Letterman (of recent times - in the 80s? Not quite).

Jay was a nice time filler for Conan. Can't wait for Conan to start on Monday and then I'll finally get the combo I've been waiting for of Conan and Ferguson.

They all suck. Scripted comedians usually are.
