If anyone could help me, I would greatly appreciate it. For my first drama assignment, we are to put together a vocal masque, which is basically like a chorus of lines strung together, that are then stylized vocally to sound really cool. We are all supposed to base our masque on one word, I have chosen TIME. Time, such an amazing, expansive, eternal word. I love it. Anyways, we are supposed to collect things that can be used for our collage of words and phrases. What I'm trying to say about time is that it is eternal, everlasting, the cause of change, and ultimately the cause of our death. Time = death. Time can seem to move so slow, time can seem to move so fast, we can't control time; time controls us, reveals us, etc.

I need to find any of the following about TIME to base my masque on:

- poems
- prose
- proverbs
- phrases (like "Time flies")
- related words
- Shakespeare quotes (I could use a good one of these. There must be a great quote about time somewhere in all of Shakespeare's amazing, amazing work).
- quotes
- anything else, at all!

If anyone will help, I will forever be at your service. ;)

PEACE, Mike ;)

Mike, use Yahoo's reference service to search all of Shakespeare's works for specific words and/or phrases.

The search for 'time' yielded 1356 results:

As a sidenote, Shakespeare is said to have used a total of over 17,000 different words in his work. This exceeds the variety of words used by any other writer in any language. The closest that anyone in English has come to Shakespeare is John Milton, with 8,000 different words.

To put this into perspective, the average adult can get by very well with just 2-3,000 words.

He is also credited with having coined hundreds of words and/or given them a new meaning. Among the most famous terms are 'assassination' and 'besmirch'.
