All i remember is the anestesia and listeing to music and then i was out .. When i woke up i could now walk I was dillusional and everything. I had things around my head and it was crazy. Also my whole mouth is numb at the moment i have been gushing blood from my lips cause i keep hurting them some how but i dont notice cause i cant feel.. It is the worst feeling in the world! And the thing is....I have a basketball game on monday, and on Tuesday I have the City Tournament.....so its going to be great! |

I had mine out in January, use lots of ice packs and take pain medication (espeically before trying to eat). Aftercare is mildly annoying, as you have a hole in your mouth and you ahve to be really careful no food gets stuck in there...its irksome. |

Yikes. I just found out about two weeks ago that I have them comming in on the bottom. They couldn't see any from the top, so hopefuly that's good news. I'm really, really afraid of the dentist. Hope you feel better. And pray for me when I have to go. Who knows how long it will take to do it..... My mom said when she had it done, she was drugged seriosuly and didn't wake up for two and a half days. Great. I'm going to be unconcious with people digging holes in me! And no food. Hmm. Can you guys, who have had them out, clear some stuff up for me? Basically, do you feel ANY pain in the process? Are the after-aches seriously painful? How long does it take for that hole to heal? *shakes in fear* |

God, I don't know why, but thinking about a hole in my mouth just disgusts me. I had it done. Someday, I'll re-invent the story for everyone. It's something I remember to this very day. For zach, it depends on how the anesthesia is given to you. I got it from a needle through a vein in my hand. Some people apparently just get the mask over your head. If you get the needle, the needle is probably the most painful part of the process itself. You don't realize anything until you wake up when it's done. I woke up feeling groggy. I didn't feel much pain at that point. I think the whole ordeal just got to me, so I didn't feel much pain. Afterpain? Yeah, it occurs. If you're fine with a little pain, it's okay. It's more frustrating than painful, the pain itself. You want it to go away. Take some pain-killers and you'll be fine! Fine AND dandy. The hole... ugh, it disgusts me to no end. I'm not sure how long it took to heal, and right now, I don't want to remember. |

Thanks for your response Xy boy. I'll talk to my dentist, because needles freak me out. Last time she poked one at me, I about freaked. |

Well, I hate needles in my mouth for the stuff that freezes your mouth (novocaine?). I don't think I talked to anyone else who ever got put to sleep with a needle, usually it's just the mask over your head, and boom! Out like a light. So, if you don't get the needle, the procedure will be a piece of cake! The only thing that will be bothersome is the stress you'll have beforehand. Nothing can cure that, it's just natural. But, don't worry, it's not as bad as it sounds. |

Many of my friends had their wisdom teeth extracted. All of them said that no pain is felt in the process. In the aftermath however...well, I won't get into this. |

Not so much painful, just uncomfortable. The worst part for me was waking up from the general anaesthetic. I'd gotten drunk the night before the operation (unwisely, it turns out), and although I'd explained this to the anaesthesiologist he claimed beforehand that there shouldn't be a problem. Well apparently after putting me under they had to riddle me with all kind of drugs just to keep me unconscious. The first thing I remember when I regained consciousness was not being able to open my eyes or move any part of my body, which unsurprisingly made me panic a little. I really started to panic when I realised I wasn't breathing either. The moment I regained some feeling in my legs and arms I began kicking the doctors and trying to pull what seemed to be a long tube from my throat. They tried to restrain me and injected me with something to calm me down before asking if I was "doing any drugs". The most terrifying thing about the whole experience was actually being under. You literally just close your eyes, open them again and find out that 3 hours have passed. Just the thought that we can be switched on and off like that terrifies me. You have absolutely no sensation that any time has passed at all. Anyway, I hear you American's get opiates to help you recover... Lucky bastards. |

So I took that as an okay to go out and get wasted! |

And they ask you to avoid drugs, alcohol and cigaarettes the day before, the day of, and the day after the surgery...your docter is a little bit crazy.... |

I didn't talk outdoors, for fear of causing some major pain to my mouth, but I was still doing pretty well. Blood wasn't bad, either. Not much, and it stopped after half a day. Maybe they injected me with memory-erasing drugs, and I don't remember it being THAT bad. Hmm... |
