Hi all,

I realize I haven't gotten to know many folks here, and sadly I really enjoy this place. Last night I was thrown for a loop, as the job I had promised to me and that I had been doing the last 6 months was outsourced, and I was given til Friday to finish up my tenure. Its all legal, since I was a temp this whole time, but still sucks royally & my mind is just going so many directions.

Needless to say, work is my only internet hub at the moment, so until I find another laid back position, I need to go.

hope you all have a wonderful holiday & I can rejoin again soon.

No offense, but maybe the reason you're being outsourced is because you spent work time on the internet.

actually, part of my job consisted of me being on the internet.

booking flights, hotels, research, photo rights and replication contracts, web based data consolidations. Even when I was goofing noone quite cared as everyone did it, and never had a reprimand.

but thanks for your concern.

Don't get me wrong. I know what it's like to be out of work. It can be devastating, ruin your credit and cause incredible strains on your home life.
I sincerely pray you quickly gain new employment, even better work.

Remember, when you're out of work, you still have a full-time job - FINDING A JOB.
Print out those resumes and hit the pavement. Knock on doors and fill out applications every day all day. If you don't limit yourself, I believe you will have another job within a week. Set a goal of submitting at least 10 applications a day.

I really appreciate that advice... those are honestly great goals, and I hope I can meet those. I already have one interview set up for Friday.. so we'll see.

Thank you again.

Oh no,

Driveaway you seemed like a great guy. I'm going to be putting together a NYC movie night sometime in Mid-December for Lemony Snicket...would you want me to contact you when we do? If so, send me your digits via pm, and I'll stash them away and drop you a call when we all get together.

Before I clicked, I thought you were gone cause you "drove away"

bad joke.

Hope you give it your best shot and land a good job. NCAR is right. You're still in many ways, full time employed.

Hilarious, bABA.

But in seriousness, I hope you make it back soon, driveaway, as it can be an indication that you've found a new job. I haven't talked to you much, if at all, but not having a job surely can suck, so I'm pulling for you. Do your best, and drive away to those job interviews. Wow, even worse than bABA.
