KJ Idol Week 1, Performance night! Voting lines are open!
Ok boys, here we go. Welcome to...
KJ Idol Season 2
Hello everyone, my names Shack, and welcome to the beginning of KJ Idol Season 2. This year we've got a fresh batch of contestants, and a fresh batch of whipping to do. The theme tonight is Political, so lets get it going. Who will come out on top of opening night as a surefire champion? Who will be left in the dust of elimination? Well, don't change your channel, because KJ Idol starts NOW.
*theme music*
KJ! IDOL! KJ! IDOL!
Well the audience is sure in a spirited mood tonight. Welcome back, and now it is time to get on with our show. Sitting backstage are our contenstants, preparing their pieces. Going first is laneyboy, lets check out how hes doing.
So, laneyboy, how are you feeling?
laneyboy: "Err...ahh...I LUV YOU MR. X!!!!!!"
Well after that embarassing display of sucking up, I suppose we better get on with the show. laneyboy, get your shine on.
laneyboy
*laneyboy walks up to stage*
"I’ll be blunt, politics don’t interest me much. But here in the great province of Québec, our politics are a bit cooky. For those who don’t know, the population of Québec is mainly filled with French people. Our province wishes to separate itself from the rest of Canada to become its own country since we (mostly meaning the French) do not feel included (which is complete bull). And now the Partie Québecois is born, a provincial government hell bent on separating from Canada. They had control for a while and we went through 2 referendums, both of which they lost (thank God). After the Liberal party came into power in Québec recently, they’ve done almost every single thing wrong that you could possibly have done. Which means of course that the Partie Québecois will return into power with their newfound 30 year old, gay (not that there’s anything wrong with that) cocaine snorting, seperatist leader, who will lead Québec into an inevitable separation from Canada. Holy fuck. Theses guys are a complete pain in the ass to many English speaking Québecers. Besides the fact that they’re trying to run out all English speaking people with these idiotic, nonsensical separation, they’ve also gone so far to create a law where all signs must be written in French and if there is to be any English on it, it must be smaller than the French title. They have even closed stores and restaurants because of this moronic law.
To add a cherry to this already shit filled pie, we have a federal party known as the Bloc Québecois who’s sole reason for existence is for the separation of Québec. Yes, it is true, Canada has gone to hell. A federal party, who generally want to lead a country into sovereignty and make it rise to power, instead wants to remove its biggest province and one of its most profitable in order to make it weaker. A federal party that wants to make their country weaker is one of the worst ideas I have ever heard of in my entire existence. It just frustrates me to no end that anybody would want to do this! And to top it off, it’s pretty much impossible for them to even come into power since they only run in Québec. What is the point?
And that concludes my rather uninformed rant/history lesson for today. Now go vote for me. "
Now lets see what our judges have to say about this:
Rod: woohoo secession!!!
Obviously you feel very strongly about this and it comes through, and that's a good thing. It could just be, and after all what does my opinion matter, but in spite of that I jsut couldn't feel too strongly about your entry. Maybe it could just be the whole Canada factor, who knows. It's good enough and I hope to see you make it through the next round, but there's room for improvement. This sentence I am typing concludes my completelllly uninformed review of your rather uninformed rant, just in case there was anyone on the edge of their seat waiting/hoping/wondering for me to start typing again once I stopped.
Mr. X: Despite the statement that “Bloc Quebecois wants Quebec to separate†was stretched out into a few paragraphs, I had my share of laughs. Some may consider that bad, since I’m not notorious for my lovely humor, but I’m certain that my humor is just as good and just as big as everyone else’s. Actually… my humor is bigger than your humor. Thumbs up, as well.
RogueCommander: Why would I vote for uninformed tripe. You present one side of the story which is untirely unjust. Perhaps the Quebecians who are intelligent and speak French are like Americans who hate the Candians. Did you ever think that? Didn't think so. Go back and study some more and get back to me in a few days.
Ok folks, right now we have a commercial break to get to, but once we get back, ChipMunky and dar and up next!

Ok, welcome back everybody. Up now is a crowd favorite, its ChipMunky!
Now lets see what he has to say:
ChipMunky
"All I have to say about "Politics" is... Leave it to Krem
Thank you"
Err...ok. Now lets see what our wonderful judges have to say:
*someone screams*
Rod: "You're very not welcome. Not to make this entire thing about me and all, and not to bring up the past or anything, and not that I'm bitter in the least, butif a one sentence entry was not good enough for me last season, it sure ain't good enough for you. Try again"
Mr. X: Well, you can’t really argue with that. Longer response? Nah, it’s not necessary. Your message is made quite clearly. In fact, it should be a new political show on MSNBC: “Leave It To Kremâ€Â. I’m pitching that as we speak to the network. Let’s just actually try next time, mkay? Mkay. Yes, mkay is a word. Right up there with “Okie doke†and “Yupperâ€Â.
RogueCommander: And all I have to say is...What a serious (censored) waste of my time.
Ouch. Well, now lets get on to our next contestant. Its dar!
dar
Cue cheesy music, on a cheesier TV stage. A blond woman (the host) is sitting in the middle of four members of a panel.
“Hello! I´m Dana Mathews. Welcome to “What the fuck do I know!â€Â, our new and revolutionary show. Cause normally people in a debate talk about something they know about… but in “What the fuck do I knowâ€Â, we bring in people who haven´t got a damn clue about the issue at hand!â€Â
“Last week we had four Thibetian monks discussing the 1964 NFL series; tonight, we are going to talk about a really exciting topic: politics. And for that, our guests will be four cinephiles. For those of you who are from Arkansas, that means somebody who likes movies very, very muchâ€Â
“You are shit!â€Â
“Ed, dear, It´s not your turn to speak yet. And besides, you should be insulting the other members of the panel, not me. Anyway, our first debator is Lucius Monroy. Lucius is know amongst his very few friends as “Mr. Blockbuster†and claims to have seen every movie in the world, including “Pluto nash†and “2001, a space odysseyâ€Â. We will have to take his word on that. Lucius, dear, tell me: What is politics?â€Â
“Well, Dana, I think politics is like “Highlanderâ€Â, the 1986 movie with Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery directed by the underrated Rusell Mulcahyâ€Â
“And how is that, dear?â€Â
“Well, in politics also, there can only be one left at the end. Lots of stabbing and beheadings. And bad hairdos, tooâ€Â
“That is shit!â€Â
“Interesting point of view, Ed. We´ll get back to that. And thank you, Lucius. Now, our next guest is a member of a world famous internet board about movies. As his parents don´t know he spends the whole day online talking about the effects of Demi Moore´s haircuts in her box office bankability during the 90´s, we will keep his identity secret; we will just refer to him using his nickname for the forums, “StevenCaulpet2004â€Â. Hello dear!â€Â
“Helloâ€Â
“So, mistery man, what is politics?â€Â
“Politics is like movies and box office, you know, everybody seems to know everything and have an opinion. It actually happens with everything: sex, morals, sports, everybody knows everything and has an opinion! â€Â
“Honey, if you do know everything, what are you doing in this show? You are supposed to know nothing about this…â€Â
“Oh, I don´t have a clue. But I do have an opinionâ€Â
“Will think about your wise words next time I go to the toilet, dear. Ok, our next guest is Mark Brillman. Mark has only seen one movie in his life but has seen it about ten thousand times, and lists “American beauty†as his favourite film ever. You do the math. Mark, Dear, what is politics?â€Â
“Politics, Dana, is everywhere. Is that bag being dragged by the wind. It´s the smile of a kid. It´s that beautiful building on the corner. It´s that meal you eat at 4 pm cause you did overtime at work. It´s the yellow teeth after you smoke. It´s the skid mark on your underwear…â€Â
“But Mark, dear, that is disgustingâ€Â
“Precisely, that´s politics. Disgustingâ€Â
“That´s shit!â€Â
“That is what I wanted to express, but in a poetic way, you knowâ€Â
“Thanks, Mark, dear. Finally, our last guest is Ed Gonzalez. Ed is a critic for Slant magazine, and seems to have strong opinions about everything, don´t you, Ed, dear? Ok, tell, what is politicsâ€Â
(Total silence)
“Politics are… hmmm… well… politics are shit!â€Â
“That was unexpected. Thank you, Ed. Well, we have learnt a lot about politics today, haven´t we? Next week, in “What the fuck do I knowâ€Â, we wil have four catholic nuns talking about how to stop Aids. Till then, be happy!â€Â
“This is shit!â€Â
“You betcha, dearâ€Â
Rod: Hmmm...I'm thinking people want me to keep it short (after becoming a celebrity from kj idol seaso one there's plenty of expectations on you it's incredible!!) And I gotta please expectations. So I will, not because I can't really think of anything to say but to keep people happy. This is easily the most original entry this round, and probably the best as well. Good job. Now just a warning to everyone voting, if a certain someone doesn't make it to the next round, you'll be hearing from me next week Can't say who it is though because as a judge encouraging people to vote for a certain individual would probably be...wrong! Wouldn't wanna go there.
Mr. X: THIS IS NOT SHIT! This is another show I’m pitching to the networks. Although, I’ll have to cut the American Beauty stuff. Making fun of American Beauty is so 2000. It’s 2038. Get with the times!
RogueCommander: Wow. Seriously do you even know what the (censored) YOU are talking about? I've never seen such an idiotic and stupid conglomerate of words pass of as writing before.
Well, the crowd seemed to like that one. Great job dar! When we get back, up next is Andrew and MovieDude!

Well, welcome back. It appears we have a special guest here today! Its ValleyGuy 3.0 *waves*! Hes way up there, wow, I can barely see him. Haha, he's wearing pink. What a douche.
Anyways, back to our show. When we last left off, dar electrified the crowd. Now coming is Andrew. So Andrew, would you like to say anything before you have your go?
Andrew: "I'd like to dedicate this piece to my very good friend, my constant companion. JESUS, I DEDICATE THIS TO YOU!" *points to the sky*
Andrew
Civil Partnerships
This week in the UK it became law that homosexual couple’s could enter into a ‘civil partnership’. By doing so it gives gay couples the same rights as married couples, with the first ceremonies due to take place on 21st December. This new legislation gives gay partnership visibility in the eyes of the law for the first time with regard to inheritance, visitation rights in hospitals and pensions and tenancy ownerships.
This can be seen as a positive step forward for ‘gay rights’ and equality in the UK, however these ‘civil partnerships’ are not open to all. At a time when an estimated 70% of the UK population are ‘without strong religious beliefs’ I feel that this legislation could have been extended to all partnerships (heterosexual, homosexual, metrosexual, anything you can think of) that do not wish to enter into marriage.
A large section of today’s society see marriage as an old, antiquated institution which isn’t taken as seriously as it possibly should be. This legislation could have been a perfect alternative for those couples who do not hold religious belief’s to gain the same benefits (including taxation) as those who choose to marry. What has actually happened is the government has added another layer of institutionalised homophobia by separating out ‘gay marriage’ and making it different from the norm.
While thousands of couples flock to become ‘civil partners’ this month, it will be regarded as a massive step in the right direction for the ‘gay rights movement’. For the UK as a whole, and all its occupants I feel it represents a missed opportunity for real equality. Rome, however, wasn’t built in a day…
Ok, now lets see what the judges say.
Rod: Very, interesting read, for me personally because it is a topic I am very interested in. I'm sure that's not the reason why you went with that topic, because I again need to remind people that this isn't all about me. Or pleasing me, although it helps. Or about what I think all the time. But for that reason it is an excellent entry. Nevermind the fact that it's good because it is very well written, gives us a great sense of who you are, and it's the prefect lenght, not too long, not too short. That's not important. It's good because I say so.
Mr. X: I wonder what Snrub thinks of being a civil partner. I’m sure he’ll be tickled pink. Good idea, some good thought, but slightly lacking. A little more thought would have been good, as in putting more of your thoughts on the subject into it. The entry doesn’t seem rushed, but I’m sure you have a larger opinion on the matter. Still, a nice debut entry.
RogueCommander: Rome wasn't built in a day...and neither was your topic. Although one must wonder why you chose such a simplistic ideal that really has little to do with politics. Obviously. You must be gay.
*laughs* Well, those are some stellar repsonses Andrew.
Up now, we have the wildchild of the bunch, its MovieDude!
MovieDude
Once upon a time, in a land far far away, people roamed throughout the wilderness, full of happiness and joy. The people would go down to the river and pick blackberries and skip through meadows full of fluffy bunny rabbits. When night came, they crawled into warm, deep beds where they rested until the sun came up, keeping them safe from whatever unspoken villians that hid in the cloak of night. The warm sunlight beat down happily upon these joyful individuals, and the most violent acts that one could hope to find were nothing but innocent tomfoolery, mostly limited to the splashing of water and bruised knees from a bad tumble down the grassy hills.
Then one day, dark clouds spread across the sky, and the people of the happy meadows and hills began to worry. Eventually, the cloud came directly over the people. Looming with malicious purpose, the people began to panic. Fingers were pointed at people, and the question of who brought upon the black cloud spread like wildfire. Squabbling, the people split into two groups. One group believed the cloud was pure evil, and if they did not find a way to destroy it they would all perish. The other group was equally concerned, but wanted to study the cloud, to learn why it was there, where it came from, and from there figure out a way to make the cloud vanish. However, the two sides could not come to an agreement about the cloud. There was only one flying machine, and while the first half wanted to use it to blow the cloud away, the other group wanted to fly up and attempt to learn from the cloud.
Suddenly, the cloud began to slowly descend, and with it chaos was unleashed. The people screamed in terror, quickly working to get one individual from there side into the flying machine. They scratched, bit, and trampled one another, but to no avail. Finally, the contraption began to take off, but it was overloaded with too many people, and crashed into the main power source that made the beds of all the people safe from the creatures that lurked in the night. And still, the cloud continued to descend. People scurried this way and that, and the survival instinct kicked in. However, a gust of wind suddenly swept through the land, and the cloud ceased it's fall. The people rejoiced, some of them declared the act a miracle, others amazing luck.
A giant banquet was held, and the people were merry once more, laughing and playing and continuing their mischief. However, none of them noticed that with the wind came the setting sun. By the time the last few rays of light had been shut out by a hill, it was far too late. People went to their beds, but something was different. The beds collapsed from the power source failure, and the people found that they were lying in rubble that could not protect them. Suddenly, like an evil plague, the creatures of the shadows swept through. The people were torn from their homes, and by the time the sun rose once more the land was barren.
The meadows and hills were littered with dead bodies, and the river flowed red. However, this macabre scene was not a result from the creatures. They were efficient and swift, and left not a soul behind. Instead, the huge wake of death stemmed from the people's own greed and teror, as the bodies had been trampled and clawed. The sun still shone, and the fluffy rabbits still hopped through the meadows, but the people were no more.
WOW. Ok judges, go ahead.
Rod: I know I said otherwise to Chipmunky, and I really don't want to sound bipolar or people to think I can't keep an opinion for more than 5 minutes...which doesn't even matter cause after all this isn't about people judging me, or what they think of me etc... but maybe one sentence entries are not too bad after all. With that said, this entry is not "too" bad either...not in the way Jewel's poem book was bad. And I believe a writing career would go better than a singing one for Bruce Willis did. And that's as much praise as you'll get from me.
Mr. X: Is this what it’s like to be high? Does the really good marijuana do this to you? Do you envision this stuff and think about it, and put it into words. If so, I’ll need to go to my nearest shady neighborhood, and get me some of this stuff. I’m missing out on a whole new world that I need to check out. Maybe my writer’s block will be cured. Six and a half thumbs up.
RogueCommander: And this children is why you should not do drugs. Drugs turn your brain in to mush. Drugs cause you to write stupid (censored) like this.
I personally have no idea what the hell that was. My mouth is still open. In any case, I believe it made the impact needed. Great job MovieDude. Ok, another commercial break coming, up after the break are MikeQ. and are-why-a-en! Stay tuned!

Welcome back once more! We still have 3 members left to perform, anteing up backstage is MikeQ. Ok Mike, heres your shot!
*MikeQ. runs up on stage*
MikeQ.
"This winter’s Elections will go down in history, but not for the reasons you think.
> Paul Martin vs. Stephen Harper vs. Jack Layton vs. Gilles Duceppe vs. Marc-Boris St-Maurice??
Well, the Canadian elections have been set for January 23rd, and there is a lot of talk regarding this election. This is the first winter election in 25 years, and there is a lot of talk about whether Canadians will want to head out in the middle of winter to vote. This also is going to be a heated election because it was set after Paul Martin and the Liberals lost a vote of confidence over the corruption scandal.
Martin and the ‘Libs’ are still trying to fight off all of the sponsorship scandal accusations and maintain a good enough image to be re-elected this upcoming January (even though Martin has been acquitted from having any involvement whatsoever with the sponsorship scandal). Mr. Harper and his Conservative gang are throwing mud everywhere and talking about how amazing they themselves are, because of course, the Conservative party is innocent and angelic; we all know that. Jack Layton and the rest of his tree huggers have been doing well. The New Democratic Party has the most power in years, and has been extremely influential. Now they’re going to fuck themselves over by siding with the Tories to flame and force an election on the Liberals. And of course Gilles Duceppe is still as crazy as ever with the Bloc Quebecois, with his interests clearly lying in Quebec separation.
But I think we’re all missing out on the most important parties here. There are, of course, 12 registered Political Parties in Canada. How about the Communist Party of Canada? After much bickering among the four usual parties, perhaps Canadians will turn to communism to fix their problems? Or how about the Christian Heritage Party? Or my personal pick for the strongest opposition this winter: The Marijuana Party of Canada, whose policies involve legalizing marijuana. Canadians love their marijuana. I think we all need to sit back and relax anyhow. But think about it: no sane person is going to head out into the freezing cold, risking their life to polar bears, to vote on January 23rd. Canadians are going to remain in their igloos, sipping hot chocolate. Only those who will remain warm and delusional from smoking marijuana will go out and vote, leaving Marc-Boris St-Maurice and the Marijuana Party of Canada with their first win in history.
Of course, this is all speculation, but I would have to conclude that in the end, Canadians will pull through and make the right decision. We are Canadian; we can handle the cold. A little snow isn’t going to keep us from performing our duty and voting this January. All I know is this is going to be one of the dirtiest, most fun campaigns ever, and this is the first set of elections ever in which I am old enough to vote! Bring. It. On.
PEACE, Mike. "
Very interesting Mike, now come stand over here with me. Judges?
Rod: "Oh Mike. I know people shouldn't alter their topics ot make reading any easier on me or to allow me to have an idea of what's being discussed, after all I'm no Idol God or anything. But who who who who what Canawhere??In spite of my ignorance on the subject it is very well written And marijuana, iglloos and polar bears? how could I not throw my full support towards you?"
Mr. X: "ROCK THE VOTE! Only the leader of the Marijuana Party would have two hyphens in his name. I’m thinking of changing my name to Mister-X Mr.-X. It’s repetitive, but it gets the job done. Great entry, Mike. Glad to see you’re off and running early on."
RogueCommander: "You should have been saved for last. Read between the lines on that one I dare you. Eh...it was quite dull and boring, and seriously who the (censored) cares about (censored) marijuana anyway. But, you do make a point. Juivenile as it may be."
Alright alright, pretty good reception I say on that one. I notice some of you audience members in the front row loved that one, if you know what I mean ha ha.
Ok are-why-a-en, you're up next! So, I've been hearing you like to practice Iceland spiritual dances?
are-why-a-en: "MY SECRET IS SPOILED!"
Yeah, ouch indeed. Ok, its your shot now! Go get some!
are-why-a-en:
"I thought I had time.
BUt little do you guys know...the POLITICS of my LIFE have taken its toll on me.
But just like POLITICS...the best never ALWAYS wins. So vote for me.
haha.
Seriously..i only have 2 minutes. Bye.
P.S. Im willing to sleep with anyone to give me another week...JUST LIKE WHAT THEY DO IN POLITICS! "
Judges, you're up:
Rod: Welll maybeee since it's like 3 sentences this might be good enough. For another week but no more. Let's discuss that last part of your post ok? But in the mean time you might not have much to worry about for the time being.
Mr. X: I thought the word "ghastly" sounded like I was describing a ghost, but Simon Cowell informs me that "ghastly" is what this post is.
RogueCommander: Yeah uh right then. So what the (censored) ever. Next time, here's a hint: espresso and/or vodka. Your pick. Just don't write any more of these shoddy pieces, else you'll be the weakest link.
Wow, harsh response. CALM DOWN! *holds down guy in front row of the audience*
Ok, we are going to get to our last contestant now. Before we do, I'd like to make an announcement. Next week, Cotton will be a guest judge. Woohoo, indeed. Ok, heres the last contestant, its...yoshue!
What are thinking of right now yoshue?
"Well I'm going to go out there and give it 110% you know, I'm going to give it my all."
Ok. Well, get out there.
*yoshue walks up*
yoshue
I'm a liberal. A gay-marrying, drug-legalizing, welfare-loving, secular liberal, who wanted his first KJ Idol post to be light, funny and frothy, although it didnt work out that way. And I'm a politcal junkie.
Some people hate politics. I love politics. Sweet Xenu, do I love politics. It's just so endlessly fascinating. Because politics is, at its core, about the struggle for POWER, it tends to expose the dark sides of those power fiends playing the political game. Who wouldn't love that?
Politics shapes our lives. Everything we do, everything we want to do, everything we *can* do; all of that is a result of a political struggle at some point. Politics can't be ignored; it is everything.
That's why it kills me when people say they hate politics. No, maybe that's not fair; I can understand why someone would hate what they see as nothing more than the wheeling and dealing of a bunch a well-dressed political hacks with agendas consisting of little other than their own personal gain at the expense of the poor, deluded voters.
What really gets to me, I guess, is just pure 100% political apathy, not to be confused with voter apathy. I vote. Even if it is an election of the most insigificant kind (as occured about a month ago, where my choices were mostly a group of unopposed old men with no real goals or passions), I vote. But I can't expect everyone to. Why? Because voting in a nationwide election is kind of irrational. Sure, everyone wants to tell you to "vote or die," "get out and vote," "voting is the single most important thing you will ever do in your life including parenthood and education," etc. Obviously, though, that one vote just doesn't matter. It is almost statistically impossible for your vote to matter. So how can I be mad when someone doesn't want to waste their time going down to the polls? I can't.
So when someone doesn't vote, the voter apathy, that doesn't bother me. It is when people make the decision to just ignore politics like they would Earth Day or a CBS sitcom that I get so frustated. I always hear people tell me they "aren't interested in politics." How someone can consider themselves not interested in the state of their world is beyond me. I want to shake them and scream that the bureaucrats deciding their future might be something to keep an eye on, but there's no getting through to those people.
These are the same people, who, when they hear you having a dicussion about something poltically-related, have to insist that they "think its stupid," as though ignorance of the matters of the world is a badge to be displayed next to that high school diploma or that Soccer trophy you got in 5th grade just for playing. (I got that; what a patronizing little trophy).
I don't think the government is evil (For the love of Xenu, I'm not a Libertarian!); indeed, I think the goverment has been and is capable of doing wonderful things. But that doesn't mean we should turn our back to it.
I'm not arguing that everyone needs to be all that well-informed. Hell, to be exceedingly well-informed is pretty much as irrational as the voting thing. The knowledge you have won't, and can't, change anything. But going through life without any knowledge, or desire to learn, about the most important entity in our lives is far, far more irrational. People just need to understand what is going on around them. I'm not asking anyone to read Congressional Quarterly.
Which, by the way, is a far more interesting publication than you might think."
Ok, solid work. Judges, you're up:
Rod: Aww, that opening sentence couldn't have been a way to get my vote specifically and support would it??? Of course not, it couldn't be. Though if it were it might have just worked. Solid, although not great work.
Mr. X: Xenu, Warrior Princess. How I miss thee. Oh yeah… wrong person with X-E-N starting their name with a vowel at the end. In all seriousness, you have nothing to worry about this week. You can unpack your suitcase, slide your feet up and relax. Whatever the hell it is you would do to feel secure, you can do it. I’m picturing you staying for a while.
RogueCommander: And I'm sure Congressional Quarterly is far more interesting then your mindless blabbering about silliness. Statistical improbability? What the (censored) ever. Leave that to the grown ups why don't you?
Ok yoshue, nice job nice job. We're gonna have one more commercial break, then we'll wrap up the show! Prepare yourself, the voting lines will be open soon enough!
