Ok, so I'll be the first to admit that I've definately done some illegal substances in the past. However I've made sure not to go beyond drinking and smoking weed, and have left cigarettes, hookah (although I'm heavily considering trying it), and any stronger drugs untouched. However, I've been talking with people over the last few days about this stuff called salvia. http://www.sagewisdom.org/faq.html#Section%204 Essentially, it's legal, not addictive, not too expensive, and in some ways a hallucinogen. Does anyone know much about the stuff, because I think this one site could be very biased, and I don't want to have me and my friends buy this shit if there is some important stuff that we should know about it. Has anyone ever tried it before, heard stories, know important facts?

Oh no no no. You don't want to do salvia. Although I've never actually tripped salvia myself, I know quite a bit about it. And I would say it is definitely not a "fun drug" (ala booze, weed, shrooms). Most people I know who've tried it haven't "broken through" to the psychadelic realm, most of them just say they feel a little weird. But if you do happen to break through (which requires the use of a high temperature lighter, and about 90 seconds of holding your breath with this shit in your lungs), the experience is said to be extremely alien. And not in an enjoyable way, more like, 'What the fuck is going on.What universe am I in.How the fuck did I get here.What am I.Who are these weird creatures,if you could call them creatures. oh my god what are they SAYING to me.why is this huge yellow Zipper unzipping my REALITY??!?!?!?!?' .....know what I'm sayin? It lasts all of 10 minutes and then you're done. Seriously, I highly recommmend avoiding salvia until you've had some more experience with 'mind expansion.' But if you wanna try it, go for it! And make sure you don't use a regular Bic / Zippo / whatever to light it, the flame isn't hot enough to activate the active chemicals.

The stuff that we'd be getting is the extract which is supposed to last a lot longer and is a liquid, instead of being smoked. Oh I see, interesting... I've never heard of it in liquid extract form. I'm almost tempted to buy some myself now, if only it were $25 cheaper. If you do end up getting it, let me know how it goes!

Yeah, I'm reading through this site, and it sounds like you get much more bang for your buck. A stronger effect, no excessive amounts of smoking, it lasts for 30 minutes - 1.5 hours rather then 10 minutes, etc. Yeah, the price is a bit much though, I'm going to see if any other sites have it any cheaper, although I think I could easily round up a group of people willing to throw in maybe 8 bucks each to give this a try.

Word, sounds good. Pooling in money for a drug buy is definitely the way to go. like, 5 peoples, $10 a person, an eighth of some chronic 'dro! ya know.

Oh yeah, especially when it's an unknown like this. If it really does blow, at least no one loses more then 7-10 bucks each. Damn, I've been talking to my college friends, a lot of them are just living off of Coors Light and those ten for 1 dollar ramen packets.

New one to me. We haven't gotten any bulletins on it yet... so must not be a lot of kids dying from it. I guess you'll just have to weigh what you hope to get out of it with any inherent risks involved with recreational drug use.

I guess my only concern would be that apparently weed and beer aren't doing it for you and you're looking for something stronger? That can be a slippery slope. I've seen a lot of good people that think they can control it that ended up destroying their lives and potential.

Yeah, although it's a hallucinogen in some ways, it's legal since it's almost completely different from most other "drugs" on the market. You can't overdose on it, you won't become addicted to it, the only way you could die would be if you were taking this stuff by yourself (the site makes a strong point to get through just how nessecary at least one "sitter" is) and falling out of a window/fire/etc. Myself, I'm in a state of mind where I'd like to find out about certain things. Weed had been something I used to constantly wonder about, then I finally tried it and had it lose all it's mystery. Since then I've smoked occasionally, but only socially. If there's a party going on and I know that I can just crash there for the night and won't have to drive, I'll smoke a bit. However, I often have spans of anywhere from three weeks to two months where I won't touch the stuff and have never had a burning desire to do it in between. It's just something that is out there, but I know what it is so I only ever do it if the situation calls for it. Alcohol I do much more often, but me and my friends ALWAYS have at least one designated driver per car, and never get incredibly smashed. I'm still having a great time doing this stuff socially while being careful not to abuse it, and I would never try any of the hard drugs that are physically addictive. This just seems like a unique situation for me to try a legal, safe, non-addictive hallucinogen so I can know what it's like, and be done with it. Have the mystery be gone, and since it's a bit on the expensive side, will likely not try it more then once or twice more. Trust me man, I've grown up to watch people fuck up their lives faster then I thought possible, if I hadn't heard of this stuff I don't think I'd have ever tried anything harder then weed or alcohol.
