I am surprised TTSS got better of War Horse in this category.

Re: WOKJ Motion Picture Awards 2011 - Winners Ceremony
Best SUPPORTING ACTOR Six performances are nominated for Best Supporting Actor: three given by beyond-reproach legends of the stage and screen; two by incredibly handsome movie stars who remind us again and again they are also formidable thespians; and one a curious case, a fifty-fifty blend of age-old performance and very new computer technology. In Drive, Albert Brooks, the actor known best for comic performances in films such as Broadcast News and Mother, plays against type with captivating results as a mid-level Los Angeles gangster who projects a certain amiability, but is, at his core, a brutal survivalist hardened by years of gaining and maintaining power. In Warrior, Nick Nolte portrays a former alcoholic who, after achieving sobriety in his twilight years, is forced to survey his flawed life, including a dead ex-wife he never treated right and two sons so angry and estranged, they engage in actual physical combat with each other. Alternating between quiet strength and volcanic rage, Nolte’s performance is an authentic and powerful portrait of a man trying to mend as many obliterated bridges as he can with what time he has left, but who also realizes certain booze-induced errors can never be undone and certain cruel words never unsaid. Also playing a father emerging from a type of haze is Christopher Plummer in Beginners. His character, Hal, is a California widower in his seventies who at long (long, long) last comes out of the closet and embraces the lifestyle of a free-spirited gay man. He doesn’t have much life left to live, but will live it the way he desires and to the fullest. This is a performance of enormous warmth and subtle melancholy. The film is small and dreamy, but Plummer’s achievement, in its humanity and open-heartedness, feels titanic. In The Tree of Life, Brad Pitt, arguably the biggest movie star in the world, delivers a commanding and complicated performance as a stern, but loving father in ‘50s Texas. This character could have slipped into pure cliché—the mean old bastard of a dad—but Pitt’s turn is sensitive and nuanced. The oceans of ache, affection, and disappointment roiling beneath the firm-disciplinarian exterior are never less than apparent. (It is interesting three of the six nominated performances are flawed, fascinating father characters.) In the romantic comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love., Ryan Gosling gives a tender comic performance in the tradition of Michael Caine in Alfie and Warren Beatty in Shampoo: a charismatic, fast-living womanizer who realizes how difficult it is to truly fall in love, share one’s life, and embrace the responsibilities of manhood. Last but not least is Andy Serkis in Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Serkis is, if you will, the Marlon Brando of motion capture. He delivers performances in a suit covered with dots which record his movements, which are then turned into a digital character by FX wizards. Audiences and critics agreed: James Franco may have enjoyed top billing, but the heart of the summer mega-hit was Serkis’ motion-capture portrayal of Caesar, an intelligent ape who invests in and is later betrayed by humanity and leads a violent simian rebellion. And the award for Best Supporting Actor goes to:

Re: WOKJ Motion Picture Awards 2011 - Winners Ceremony
Best Visual Effects The power of movies lie in converting a non-believer by taking them to a dream land or making them believe what they see on screen is actually happening.
Force Fields and their breaking, duels, dragon fire from wands, destruction of Hogwarts were some of the traits from eighth and final journey to this magical world - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 Landing first space ship on Moon's eye, shooting the killings of dragon, an unknown city with a eventful train station and a robot that requires a mysterious key to operate were some of the dreams that were brought to reality. Hugo Mesmerizing audience into the world of Caesar and making them believe that the Apes could actually overpower human race. Rise of the Planet of the Apes A non-stop action thriller where bad robots capture Chicago and good ones try to defend humanity from the likes of super-destructive autobot Shockwave. Transformers: Dark of the Moon An drama where emotions were explained by different wonders of nature in an unprecedented way of how graphical videos are used today in film industry The Tree of Life
