Yeah, but the thing is, I'll willingly admit that I stink at predicting box-office or sports (especially sports... I'm the plague of sports predicting. I'm almost proud of the insane, divine intervention-like bad streaks I've had in that forum). I just, you know, don't have to measure my worth on how accurately I can guess box-office numbers. By the way, just pointing out, in response to that "I haven't made a prediction since Walk the Line" comment, I'd declare that untrue. I think you "forgot" the time you claimed FF2 was headed for 65-70 mil+, then made a thread after opening day declaring how right you were and how wrong the sheep of KJ always are, then everyone else was like "Whattt, isn't it headed for 55-60 mil like we said it was?", and then watched as it did. That was gold. So as far as I know, you're 1-1 in the last 3 years. Congratulations, you're now as accurate as a monkey flipping a coin! Also according the seach I did of your name in the box-office forum, you made a 200 mil+ thread for Revolutionary Road. That hasn't happened yet, but was just pointed it out. How are we supposed to bow to you if you won't even tell us the truth, dammit! You'll have to post that link with me predicting any 65-70 million. I'd hate to think you just made that up or that my memory is starting to go.

I wouldn't miss, though...should I predict the Incredible Hulk. Oh man, you crack me up..keep up the good work

I think you are good, quite good at reading certain kinds of films, films you simply have more idea and knowledge about. Thus the great calls on Walk the Line and Iron Man. However, your full box-office knowledge can't be assessed as long as you make predictions very rarely and mostly just for films you know something about. When venturing out of the niché, you are hit/miss (like with that Harry Potter 4 insistance on it opening below $100 million). Therefore, you need to dare more and predict more films. I knew absolutely nothing about the Doom movie and Video game. I have no bad calls like that except for the Hulk. If I did do a Hulk prediction, and it turned out to be wrong ( as unbelieveable as that possibility is), I could always pull out the "I only miss when I make Hulk predictions" card out of the hat. I wouldn't miss, though...should I predict the Incredible Hulk. You argued with me to death that Harry Potter wouldn't open to $100 million whe I said it would and even sent me a PM mocking my prediction after the early reports were out. Turned out, the number was underestimated and you were wrong. I think, if I look long enough, I might even find that PM, so...

Oh, how rude, I didn't give my opinion on the subject. I will give as spot on and objective an analysis as I do with all of my predictions. Mav seriously lacks in some knowledge concerning historic data, and has a limited knowledge about drops and multipliers. There are ins and outs that he stays away from discussing at all times, so as not to reveal such ignorances. Mav's strengths are in reading the marketplace, in which he has no peer, and a great system in which he breaks down the entire picture using whatever historic data he's researched, and a gifted level of sense. I'd say he's better with the awards stuff, because there is no data ignorance handicapping him.

This thread epitomizes the reasons why I can't stand you, Mav. For all your protests that I was told I have to hate you, I honestly wasn't. You made me hate you all by yourself! Congrats!

Mavs jokes are a lot like his box office predictions.......hit or miss, mostly miss but its cool because he makes up for it with classics i.e. Quote: I wasn't way off, and, in fact, never am,

I'll never forget this prediction: http://www.worldofkj.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=5907&p=204060#p204060I often wonder if anyone's ever come close to nailing a box office prediction as closely as that younger, slightly less attractive Snrub did back in 2005. Then I lean back, take a chug of my pipe, a sip of port and chuckle to myself. Of course not.

I think, judging from that and your comments in this thread, you may not fully understand what "getting owned" means. Quote: Then you stepped down after doing a humiliatingly bad job as a mod. Did I laugh at you then? Did I?: Heh, what? This comment by you and Loyal has me desperate for a list of reasons why you thought jujubee was that. Because I'm missing something, I think. Please, indulge me. PLEASE.
