I am too lazy to go to the archives and search, but I am wondering whether we have ever had a movie win Best Director and nothing else before...

Yay! I voted for Whiplash , but I'm just glad Birdman or Interstellar didn't win. KJs BP winners list remains pure.
My favorite win/tie of the night is Jake! Very well deserving. He actually did more than play himself too!

Cuarón's and Nolan's movies have won twice before, no reason to complain.

Well at least Gone Girl is in my five (four) so I can be pleased that won. And Interstellar did get quite a bit of love, so there's that. Not bad folks. Not bad at all.

Gone Girl is my #2 of the year and my #1 wasn't nominated in the category so yay for it winning Best Picture. Delicious film.

Re: 11th Annual WOKJ Motion Picture Awards winners announced
I know I never post anymore and haven't followed as much lately, but I never miss voting for this each year. And wouldn't you know, Gone Girl was my favorite of last year and got my vote! Yay for participation and making a difference! Also a huge fan of the Gyllenhaal win. Way overlooked this awards season. Always fun to be apart of these and, as always, thanks Lecter for taking the time to throw it all together!

Re: 11th Annual WOKJ Motion Picture Awards winners announced
Boyhood is my favorite movie in many years, but if it had to lose Best Picture, I'm glad it was to Gone Girl (my second favorite film of 2014). And at least Linklater won. So glad Interstellar didn't win, meh.
These are pretty good, in general. The Best Actor tie between Keaton and Gyllenhaal is especially great.
The only total WTF for me is Emily Blunt winning Supporting Actress. First of all, Blunt is lead in that film, not supporting. Second of all...really? I like her as much as the next person, but she did not deserve to win that over Patricia Arquette, Emma Stone, Carrie Coon, Rene Russo, etc.
