Don't really get the sadness over Fisher's death. She played one role over thirty years ago and nothing else, and she's hardly a great actress. I know her role was big in popular culture back then and has been steady through those 30 years, but it's not like she has done loads of other great things, or won Oscars. She has just milked a role that she performed badly over 30 years ago. I don't know, it just annoys me when she is included in the same sentence as David Bowie, Prince, and Muhammad Ali.

Maybe you should do more research. And it's funny that you include Prince in that list, when you trashed him when he died, too.

I was ignorant to Prince's discography. I have since had my eyes opened. But Carrie Fisher isn't a secret Meryl Streep, Chippy, so don't even try it.

I never said anything about her acting. But she was far more than just an actress.

Jokes aside, I know her role was iconic in popular culture, but it's still just a role that she played. Being in the same sentence as such influential and creative figures as Ali and Bowie is absurd. She created nothing. She played a part (badly) and did nothing since. I liked her as well, but besides a few talks here and there on topics nobody really cares about, she did nothing. But sure, she's dead now, so idolize her as though she was Mother Teresa, Meryl Streep, Madonna, and Queen Nefertiti all rolled into one.

Funny, considering Meryl Streep played her in the successful film adaptation of the acclaimed book she (Carrie) wrote ("Postcards From The Edge") and adapted for the screen herself.

Actually her life as a writer and hollywood script doctor is pretty legendary. She made a shit ton more of money doing that than SW ever got her. I think it was something like 60+ films she polished up, also a bunch of The Academy Awards ceremonies.

I saw a couple of things on it, They're only mentioning a few though like Hook, The Wedding Singer, Lethal Weapon 3 etc. Mostly SW, her addictions, and postcards from the edge. And of course they're still talking about the affair like its somehow more important.

She ain't on a par with David Bowie or Muhammad Ali no matter what you now find while digging into her past. End of.
