Hillary didn't excite, so she lost. Trump existed, so he won. Pretty much

If it is Warren-Booker, they will not lose. Liz already missed her window. She was the right choice for this election cycle but didn't wanna cock block her bro.

stuffp wrote: Chippy is right and Excel's plan is lol but as a principle it's just a matter of one percentile in a swing state here or there to define the winner of an election. True. The two candidates finished within 1.5% of each other in 5 states, with Clinton winning only one (NH). This could easily be a 307-231 in her favor with just a 0.7% swing in each state. Dem just needs the right candidate and re-establishes the so-called "firewall".

Liz has limitless energy. Age is only a number. Warren is much closer to a female Trump than Hillary ever was. Liz is a brilliant, pure attack dog.

SUMMON WARREN Based on what? It sure as hell isn't charisma. I think she'd make a great president, but she'd get slaughtered in the election.

Sanders Warren and Booker are ones to watch. Sanders and Warren are already in their 70s. Probably not them. Expect Kaine, Booker, Gillibrand, Duckworth... Are they trying to lose? Tim Kaine was a total disaster who added not an ounce of enthusiasm to the ticket. Nobody knows Gillibrand and Duckworth. Democratic and minorities will go ape for Warren-Booker. Assuming the electoral map doesn't change as much in the next 4 years as it seemingly has in the past 4. I didn't say I supported all these. I was merely making a prediction.

At least Reagan and Schwarzenegger ran for Governor first. Get some experience first. This is one of the reasons (among many) Trump will be so terrible. You need to have some experience in how government works if you want to run it. It's not a business. You can't fire Senators who disagree with you.

Trump couldn't fire the businessmen who were on the other side of the table with him, either.

Dems really need to get someone to energize the base and get everyone to the polls. 2020 is when they re-district everything. It would be great to get the gerrymandering off the charts.

Obviously, yes I meant for retaking the House. You can't exactly gerrymander the senate elections... That is the only way they could potentially take back the house one day. Dems have concentrated too much on the senate and presidential elections, and need to focus on the state elections as well. They need to energize the base to do just that.

When Bush won in 2004, no one thought Obama was going to run since he didn't fit the mold. So although there are some possibilities, we might not even have someone in the forefront that will be running.

If Trump is by some miracle a good president, does he have a chance for reelection? Or will the newly incensed democrats rally around their next candidate in unprecedented fashion nonetheless?

That's not a one or the other scenario. Both could easily happen.

I think that is what was so depressing during that convention to see how the media just started swooning for him.

Howard Dean's disappointed base latched onto Obama almost immediately if I recall. I think 2020 goes the same way, but with whoever the Bernie Bros fall in love with. We will know by 2018.
