Dems really need to get someone to energize the base and get everyone to the polls. 2020 is when they re-district everything. It would be great to get the gerrymandering off the charts.

That is the only way they could potentially take back the house one day. Dems have concentrated too much on the senate and presidential elections, and need to focus on the state elections as well. They need to energize the base to do just that.

When Bush won in 2004, no one thought Obama was going to run since he didn't fit the mold. So although there are some possibilities, we might not even have someone in the forefront that will be running.

That's not a one or the other scenario. Both could easily happen.
