Re: Have you ever been in a fight?
Though I kinda miss it. Especially pencak silat. The trainer was a total badass: He has been doing pencak silat since 1975 and 1990 he was sent by the Indonesian pencak silat organisation IPSI to Europe as the official emissary of the art. He has reached the 2nd-highest attainable level at pencak silat and he is regularly travelling to Sweden, Belgium, Spain or Austria to supervise championships and give workshops. Basically the best person you can imagine studying the art under. He has a huge collection of ancient silat weapons at home (like the knives you see). I did some training with dull knives, but mostly with fighting sticks. The guy is about 165-168 cm tall and weighs no more than 55-57 kg, but he could get you on the ground within a second.

You certainly get worse with martial arts. Of course I remember the stances, the standard moves, but the reflexes are gone and the more complex combinations, I do not remember.

First: there are no such films made in Germany or any neighboring countries. Second: no, it is not. You have seen The Raid films and you still have probably never heard of the art.

So there's definitely more value in getting it into films than teaching a few classes a week to a few people in Germany. And to your first point, you said he was sent from Asia ... so he obviously can go back there too.

Nothing really beyond getting into wrestling matches w/ my brothers.
Although in 1st grade I did shove this kid to the ground for taunting me.

In 8th grade, I believe a guy was messing with my little brother (MovieGeek) and I "fought" him, by dodging a punch and grabbing his arm. But that was the end of it. MovieGeek is your brother?! For 25 years now!
