 Re: Going to Australia..
What's the weather like in Sydney or Melbourne?
I'm packing and I really want to take my shorts and T-shirts..

 Re: Going to Australia..
Sydney is currently rainy and kinda chilly, probably a little too cold for shorts. Melbourne is around the same temperature, but just cloudy.
Or so says the internet.

It's like if someone told you that bananas were blue and they always have been. This is the level of ignorance that I'm challenging within myself. I'm like "Australia and cold = mindfuck".

 Re: Going to Australia..
If you're used to colder weather, 65 degrees F would be fine with shorts.
For someone like me who lives in 100 degree F... I would be freezing.

 Re: Going to Australia..
This might be the most boring conversation ever. We've learned Chips a pus, Gamaur is a man, and Algren bases his travel on KJ people. Ever heard of weather.com?
I do wish you a wonderful trip though. That's one of the few places still on my bucket list to travel.

 Re: Going to Australia..
Oh I like Algren quite a bit. I think we've just gotten into a rut in our relationship where one has to insult the other no matter what.
All I meant was the last part of the post. The rest is all bull shit. He's more than smart enough to know I know he doesn't only listen to KJ board member opinions.
I think I'm about two years out from going to Australia, so I'm super excited to hear all about it.

 Re: Going to Australia..
Use this site for weather www.bom.gov.auits the most accurate. And Gaumar is right - its cold this time of year - though late August in both cities can hit the mid 20's so you just never know. Pack for winter/autumn.

Hopefully it gets better for you.

 Re: Going to Australia..
Well, we are here visiting my wife's brother while he's not at uni. I had no idea that Australia was like this before I said yes to the trip. We're here for 2 weeks so I hope I see a bit of Aussie goodness. Saw The Expendables 3 tonight, so even if the rest of the holiday is awful, it won't be a complete disaster.
I'm in Eastwood/parramatta area, btw.

Algren wrote: I'm in Eastwood/parramatta area, btw. This is your problem. The western suburbs of Sydney are a cesspool. I'd expect you'll enjoy the harbour, beaches and city sights more once you get there. Also some of the places I mentioned if you get to Melbourne. I'm on a flight now waiting to depart. Delayed as usual.

Yeah, we'll this is just where we are staying. If the weather improves, we will go to the better areas. I kept hoping to see Ramsey Street, haha.

 Re: Going to Australia..
Today wasn't bad. We went to Darling Harbour and saw the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Had some nice food etc. We will go back another day and climb the bridge -- hope it is sunny. My wife's parents seemed to enjoy themselves.
I have lots of energy left to do more but they are tired.
I think Melbourne is not going to happen now. Nobody seems to be mentioning it as a possible excursion, so I guess we'll leave that for another holiday.

 Re: Going to Australia..
Yeah you'll see Neihbours stars literally everywhere, especially at bars running trivia nights lol.
Much better weather in Sydney today. Atleast it's sunny. I look forward to leaving tonight though.

 Re: Going to Australia..
I only know the Neighbours stars from about 15 years ago, so I doubt I would recognise any of them.

Me too Algren - I haven't watched it in years. These are the stars that turn up hosting trivia nights at bars so you would know them if you saw them.

 Re: Going to Australia..
Visiting Bondi today, then perhaps Canberra tomorrow.
As for Neighbours, I think I remember one called Harold that kept dying and kept coming back. Then I remember Flick (hmmm Holly Valance) and most of the chicks are hot.

I want to visit Fox Studios here in Sydney. Do you Aussies know if it is possible for the public to visit? I have had a look on their website and nothing is mentioned..
