This is embarrassing. Her interview with Lauer was a bit embarrassing on her part. She should have just owned up to it. Apologized. Say I made a terrible mistake. I want her to come back from this because idk what kind of karma is happening here but for her to lose all these corporate backers over something she said decades ago I find so ridiculous.

It's not just what she said decades ago, let us NOT act like we know damn well she says that and worse all the time now. And she has said other really horribly racist shit recently too, like wanting to have a plantation style wedding with black people dressed up as slaves serving the whites. There are also reports that her black employees on her show were told "they had no civil rights here" and were discriminated against when it comes to salary.

Sounds like some people can't see the plantation through the palm trees. This isn't just about her usage of the n-word, but the institutionalized racism her corporation seems to have embodied. Read the lawsuit's complaint for goodness' sake. Paula and them not only enacted racially hostile, house slave/field slave politics in the workplace, but they also established a rape culture and Antisemitism.

Which is not to say that this is anything more than a hollow, ugly spectacle that distracts from far more pressing issues.
