Post Re: Alex Jones/Piers Morgan interview
Howard Stern interviewed Alex Jones last week. This is a pretty good representation of who Alex is - and I think it's a pretty decent conversation overall. Howard asks him the kind of questions that any of us, including myself, would ask him.

It's a long interview, but they discuss the Piers Morgan interview up front, so you could at least listen that far. It's an interesting behind the scenes story. I wouldn't expect anyone to necessarily be won over by him based on this, but it at least is a fair sample.

I can't get the embed to work for some reason, sorry.

More crazy antics from everybody's favorite nutjob:

So clearly this guy is a shrewd businessman who noted the financial success of Glenn Beck, took his own spin on the blind anti-government conspiracy theorist archetype, and soared to his own monetary mountain of fame. I mean, ever since he started appearing on these shows and acting in such a manner, his ratings have increased and he has made more money. Ethics aside, would you not do the same thing? I mean people are gullible and there is a market for these stunts. All you have to do is verify it with pseudo reliable sources, and counter the actual reliable sources as being in on the conspiracy and you got your target market taking you seriously. Next, perform these interviews, spark people's interest, and you have the attention of rational minded people. Soon after, the responses from the rational people will prompt the target market to come further to his defense, and now you've increased dedication from the customers. It is a brilliant plan really, if you don't mind taking advantage of people.

Perhaps there is some truth and honest merit to Jones and his cause, but most of it is washed out by his extremism and over the top theatrics, but you have to think, if he has to retort to such measures, how earnest is his cause? Rational discussions don't rake in money, but they do speak more volumes to a larger percentage of people.

Still, I agree with one aspect of his so-called caused. People are getting more complacent while the problems of the world continue. Unfortunately Tea Partyesque protests only seem to manifest in the United States, and do not serve any purpose other than as a party building platform, while true protests from the youth, however misguided, seemed to get squashed and unfairly dismissed.
