I agree completely

It's all a bunch of unconstructive bullshit. There are very few contexts in which I think lying to people is okay, and a stupid holiday that celebrates it is not one of them.

Perhaps these things might seem funny in retrospect, but I don't think its worth the irrevocable damage it can do to people's trust. For example, I lost quite a bit of trust and respect for everyone involved in the pregnancy bullshit over the past few days.

Call me humorless or thin-skinned (I am neither), I don't care. My two cents.

Stop that, it was logical and made sense damnit, this is April Fool's, that is not allowed, we have to play jokes on people, b/c the calendar said so.

I just saw the "April Fool's" section of this Board, which I hadn't noticed before. (Today has been busy, I basically got online and posted my joke and checked up on it later). Sorry everyone; had I realized everyone and their brother was doing something like this I probably wouldn't have done so.

And I agree that an April Fool's joke that you can't figure out isn't fun. Mine had hints that it wasn't serious, and most everyone realized by the end that it was a joke. To me, that's fun -- everyone is part of it. Lying to someone and then carrying it on forever seems kind of sadistic to me. If you have fun by making other people unhappy, I worry about you. I prefer to have jokes and invite others to be a part of it.

Besides, anyone who posted before April 1st is cruel. Part of the fun of April Fool's Day is trying to guess whether it's a joke or not. Doing it on another day takes that away.
