 Re: Tech help... New problem!
This isn't a fix, but if I were in your situation I'd download Opera browser (very small download) and see if that is some sort of temporary fix while you find the real problem.

 Re: Tech help... New problem!
Any clue on the KJ problem Gulli?
It's strange, I've downloaded Opera on my PC and even that refused to connect to KJ properly. Same image every time. The website header and that little backwards arrow. Occasionally I get as far as the main board index, but clicking on any of the forums brings up that damn little arrow again.
It shouldn't be a problem with the router, because I can access KJ fine from this laptop using the same network cable. And it doesn't appear to be a problem with my PC, because I can view other websites and phpbb3 forums fine.

Does hurt to try the old trick of clearing the the cache on the desktop machine Snrub.

 Re: Tech help... New problem!
Yeah, I've done that. Still doesn't work. And it doesn't explain why KJ won't open up in IE or Opera either.
I'm beginning to loathe technology.

 Re: Tech help... New problem!
You pissed off a voodoo women Snrub, its the only explination! Seriously there is no logical reason for it not to work on one machine and work on another unless KJ has some need for super duper secret plug-in's before its co-opperate.

 Re: Tech help... New problem!
It's genuinely baffling, and another fucking annoying hiccup in the long, sad history of my internet woes.
Could it have something to do with the fact I re-installed Windows on the machine? It's service pack 2, but it might be an older version than the last I had.
Which STILL wouldn't explain why I can view other PHPBB3 boards but not this one.

 Re: Tech help... New problem!
Nope its definetly not the windows install, i surfed KJ on an old pre SP1 XP a week ago while i was upgrading it and had no problems. Afraid I'm as stumped as you Man. EDIT: You could try resetting the router, jujubee did that for a KJ problem that was similar and it worked.

 Re: Tech help... New problem!
Yeah, it's sounding like a slightly worse version of my problem, and Corpse was having some issues as well. I'm beginning to think WoKJ actually hates visitors and wants to discourage people from coming here.

And the problem seems to be back, BTW. I thought that post didn't go through and it only showed up several mins later for me.

 Re: Tech help... New problem!
Eep... wouldn't resetting the router erase all the complicated looking settings my mate did last night? He did some crazy MAC address spoofing to fool the ISP into thinking my router was the laptop.
Also, I'm using the exact same cable connected to the exact same router on my laptop... and KJ's working fine.

How do I do that?
Also, I just edited my last post before you posted, heh. I'm using the same wire coming from the same router on my laptop and KJ's working fine. It just doesn't make any sense!

Indeed it would, so don't since spoofing MAC addresses take a bit of knowledge. I will say thats a pretty stupid restriction you're ISP has in place.

Well, my method is repeatedly apple-option-e'ing over and over again right before ever attempting to post. If only you had an Apple you would be able to do the same.

So that's it then. A bit of Apple pimping and a couple of "who knows?". Well... I can't go on using this laptop forever...
I guess this might mark the end of Snrub's time here at KJ... *sniff*
It's been nice knowing you all. I'll miss our times together. Gulli, take good care of Squee. Remember, he likes the mini-marshmallows in his cocoa, not the big ones.
So long everyone.

I'm so confused I've just fixed my PC so that it can go on the internet again, but for some reason it won't let me access World of KJ. Which leaves me with two options... stay on my crappy, terminally slow laptop, or put it away and resign myself to never coming here ever again... Unfortunately, for practical reasons (my laptop's fucked) I'm going to have to go with the second option... For the record, my dearest Libs. I think I'll miss you most of all. Unless, that is, someone can come up with a solution for my PC problem. Farewell again! This is the end!
